Wharton Civic Center

The venue is very pretty, but it can be hard to get them to visualize what you want. I had a hard time explaining that I wanted two colors of tablecloths and for the colors to alternate. However, you can rent white tablecloths from them for $5, which was very reasonable. The HUGE drawback is security. Even without alochol, we had to pay $375 for officers to sit around and do nothing, and eat our food without asking or being told it was OK. With alcohol, it would have been almost $1,000 for security. It's definitely a ripoff.

The venue is attractive and has a nice, elegant feel. However, security is expensive and you are required to have it no matter what.

Wonderful location for us. The hall has a large foyer and good sized ballroom. Plenty of room to eat and dance. Staff sets up furniture with tableclothes for you.
