The American Club Resort

Amazing wedding location!
We are from Chicago and decided to do an "out of town" wedding in a place drivable. We used a variety of spaced during the weekend.
We had the rehearsal dinner in the Irish Barn at Whistling Straits. Food was amazing, and they were very flexable with us on space, numbers, and setting up various A/V equipment.
We had our ceremony at The Irish Barn at Whistling Straits (you can use this space for ceremony if you are out by 4 pm for extra $) and rented the Champions Locker Room to get ready in (bringing our hair and make-up ppl). We had food catered in for the wedding party. We chose this as a ceremony location over the courtyard at the Resort because 1- looks kinda like a church 2- this space can be used in rain or shine so didn't have to worry about weather, and 3- the courtyard ceremony space at the A Club doesn't have an actual aisle.
We had the reception and cocktail hour at The American Club. The outdoor cocktail hour in the courtyard was amazing. It even rained for a few minutes and everyone just took cover while the bartenders served. The reception was georgous. The ballroom is perfect. I was concerned it would be too dark (especially the carpet), but with the right flowers and lifhting, room was amazing. We brought in our florist from Chi but I'm sure the florist there is great, too. Everything we wanted and asked for happened. The weekend was a great time.
We did a Sunday brunch at Blackwolf run- georgous!
Suggestions if you are planning your wedding: remember they have many many events going on there- you may not hear back re: questions, etc as quickly as you want. Don't worry- all will come together perfectly! If you want different chairs, linnens, etc, you have to manage ordering all that on your own. We had a separate wedding planner which was well worth it. Make hotel reservations well in advance (encouarge your guests!). Also, remember it's an expensive resort- all extras can add up.
Overall- lived up to our dreams!
