I got my Lazaro wedding dress for half what retail is. The workers made me feel like I was the most important customer, can't beat that level of customer service
White Chicago was the only place I went to. I cannot believe I was so lucky to find the dress of my dreams immediately. It was a great experience. The saleswomen really take their time to help you and share their honest opinions. Carol the seamstress is by far the most amazing seamstress I have ever worked with. Without me asking, she completely re-worked the back of my dress and made it even more dramatic and breath taking. Well worth the money!
After making my rounds at bridal shops around the city, I realized I did not want to spend a fortune on something I would only wear once...but at the same time I didn't want my dress to look cheap. So WhiteCHICAGO was the perfect solution.I ended up purchasing my dress at there and couldn't have been happier with it!
I started by browsing their online selection, wrote down the numbers of dresses I wanted to try on, and came prepared to my 1 hr appointment. My only complaint is that they rush you through the appointment, but I guess you can't have everything. I ended up finding a sample gown that I did not see online. It was in amazing shape and practically looked brand new!
As a frugal and financially practical person, there was no better feeling that being able to get an expensive-looking wedding dress of my dreams for a very reasonable price. Not to mention that I felt like I was recycling in my own way. Why buy a totally new dress when you can reuse what is already out there? I did however find a different alterations shop in suburbs to work on my dress (WhiteCHICAGO's alterations seemed a bit pricey).
If you're looking for a gorgeous gown and a reasonable price, try WhiteCHICAGO!
I bought my dress at another store, and about three months later decided it wasn't for me. With only 4 months left to the wedding (and no real time to order a brand new dress), I decided to try out whiteCHICAGO. Best Idea Ever!!! I got the dress of my dreams for significantly less than it would have cost new (though it was still pretty pricey), and ended up not even needing to spend money on tailoring (because the dress had already been altered and fit perfectly). It's definitely worth your time to check this place out if you're looking for a designer label at half the cost!
I found the most amazing Vera Wang dress at White Chicago. It was literally love at first sight, and though I know I lucked out big time with my dress, it was the experience I had at White Chicago that made it that much more special for me. Even Kyra, the most fun & amazing person to work with over there, got teary-eyed when I came out to show off the dress. She ran to get us all tissues so we wouldn't shed any tears on the dress!
The seamstress Carol is awesome, does amazing work, and though I paid extra to have the back of my dress changed, was worth every penny. I would go back just to play if they didn't know who I was!!
Excellent service!!!!Very professional and great sales !They have beautiful dresses there... After going to several places, I found my dress there, and it was not hard to fall in love with it... Really nice place to pick your dress and very friendly people...
I went to White Chicago, hoping to find a few dresses that I liked, and hopefully under budget! They led me to the room of dresses (that changes all the time) after I had washed my hands and taken off my shoes. They are really good about keeping things clean and take excellent care of the dresses.
After trying on 6 or so gowns that were very pretty, but not really my style, I decided to try on a dress that was hanging in the window. I fell in love. It was a Vera Wang, from her luxe line, 70% off the original price. It was a sample gown - meaning it had been in a bridal store and tried on, but never worn down the aisle. The bottom was a bit dirty, and the dress was a couple sizes too big, but I had never seen a dress like this one, and it took my breath away. (The bottom will be cut off anyway b/c it is too long)
Due to the consignment nature of the store- inventory is constantly changing, but I was thrilled with my luck of finding THE dress, and really pleased with how relaxed and wonderful the entire appointment was. I brought back my family the next week and purchased on the spot. I am also using their seamstress for alterations and will write a review once I have my next fitting! I love White Chicago!
I liked the sample dress I purchased, but wished I could have spent a little less on it. The alterations were also expensive and the dress didn't fit quite right in the bust the day of the wedding.
I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!!! I absolutely loved the service I received at WhiteChicago. Lucy is the best!!! I knew right away when I walked in that I wanted to get my dress there. I just liked the vibe I got. They have the most beautiful gowns and the prices were just right.
I tried on so many dresses, all over the city, but this place was the best hands down. You just have to be ready to buy! I don't suggest going there until you are, because I knew there was a dress I wanted BAD so you have to be ready to jump on it.
I love my dress so much! It was still expensive, but a much better value than all the other designer dress places. If you want a designer dress at a great price - this is the place to go. It is beautiful inside - very neat and clean. They were wonderful, but very busy. They only let me try on a certain number of dresses, even though I had more picked out. I would recomend this place to anyone!
White Chicago was wonderful:) Everyone there was so helpful and offered to take your picture in the gown as other bridal shops may not. This is a very nice feature if you are not about the certain about the gown.
I looked for dresses here and was very impressed with the level of service. Although I did not buy my dress at White Chicago, I did return for my alterations with Carol, the seamstress on site. The alterations were more expensive than I had anticipated, but she did a terrific job on the alterations. I would recommend looking for a dress here (Lucy is very friendly and helpful) and using Carol for alterations.
I found my reception dress at White Chicago and they were very acommodating. I would highly recommend this store to anyone, however they typically have most sizes in 6, 8 or 10. However, I am in between a 12-14 in wedding dress sizes since they typically run smaller. I found the most amazing perfect dress in a size 16. I was able to have it altered by Carol Tauzon and she did a great job of taking it in a few sizes. White Chicago is a great place to look for a dress. They are friendly, accommodating and have a great selection. You must look here to find a dress regardless of your size because they get new dresses in of all sizes everyday and you may just find your perfect dress here!
Super Super Super. Lucy and staff were awesome. Friendly, on the ball, and ran super smooth. My dress was simply the most gourgous thing I had ever seen on me. The atmosphere is cool, they remember you, you feel they everything in control because they do. I would have liked a timeline of suggested fitting appts and maybe some reminder calls...my dress pressing was also later than they said they would have it...but only by a couple of hours and I wanted it early. Highy Recommend!
I bought a beautiful dress at White Chicago for several thousand dollars, which they told me they would dry clean and have ready within a month. After 2 months went by, I called them and they still didn't have the dress ready, then they kept promising it for me and it wouldn't be ready yet. As a result I became very distrustful of this place and I took the dress elsewhere for alterations. The staff is friendly but the dresses are very expensive for "used" dresses--I expected much better service at this kind of cost. I would definitely approach this store with caution.
I, of course, purchased my wedding gown from my place of employment, White Chicago. I bought a once wed Badgley Mischka that I wouldn't have been able to afford, had I purchased it new. It retailed at $6200, but I found it for ½ off the retail price. I had a short, 5 ½ month engagement, so purchasing off the rack at White Chicago allowed me have the gown I loved, at a price I could afford, all in time for the wedding! There are over 300 gowns to choose from- some samples, some new, some “once wed.” I chose a gown that was once wed- but it was in practically perfect condition due to the great care the staff takes when handling the gowns. Once the gown was altered to fit me like a glove, I had made it all my own.
White Chicago is a designer resale shop for wedding gowns with prices starting at $ 1,000. Their selection is at the traditional end. However, at each given moment, they stock around 300 gowns. So, chances are that if you are interested in a tradition style ball gown or an a-line, you would be able to find it there.
For me, quite frankly, it was a waste of time destination. All of the gowns seemed very old fashioned to me even though the requirement of the store is to stock gowns donated within three years of their purchase date. In my book, it just tells you how outdated, most, if not all, of Chicago bridal stores are regardless of the price one is willing or able to pay for a gown of choice.
Anyway, going back to White Chicago, at the time I went to the store, they had one Monique Lullier, three or four Vera Wang, ton of Alice Padrul, Anne Barge, Christos, and Demetrios gowns. One of the dresses I noticed was Alice Padrul's gown which was exactly the same one and in the same condition as the one I saw at her gallery two days later.
Generally speaking, each dress was discounted for at least 30% off their original price. However, the dresses are already altered for their previous owners. so, in theory, none of them is going to be perfect unless you share the same body structure as the bride who wore it before.
The store is very pleasing to the eye and it has a fairly good customer service. However, I would not go there unless you are looking to buy a traditional ball gown with a price tag of $ 6000 because, by buying it for $ 3000, you are really saving a lot of money by getting an exact same dress.
I bought my bridal gown in another city but decided to "reinvent" it after changing my mind. The seamstress at White Chicago, Carol, did a magnificent job. She transformed my gown into the gown of my dreams. She even made two veils for me - one for the church and one for the reception. She knows what she is doing, knows what looks good and knows what is stylish - a true wedding gown guru!
This was the first place I went to try on dresses. Stacey was extremely friendly from the moment I walked in the door. She took the time to understand what I was looking for. You are able to look through their gowns and pick out the ones you would like to try on. As I started to narrow what types of dresses I liked, Stacey took it upon herself to go back and pull more dresses for me. She explained the different cuts and silohouettes. She gave honest opinions and tips on what would look best on my body type. I was by myself and she even took pictures of me in the dresses. I wasn't able to narrow in on one dress during my visit, but they have a great selection especially if you are looking for a discounted designer gown. Eventhough I didn't find "The One" she invited me to come back anytime and look through their selection. If you are looking for a friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable atmosphere to try on dresses, then this is the place to be!
IJORERE The Invitation
I ordered my dress from White Chicago and I loved how beautiful my dress was and how affordable it was, even in this economy. WOW!!!
The only place to go to shop for designer resale gowns in pristine condition at great prices. We have sent loads of brides here and they are never dissapointed.
Check this shop out, it's an amazing concept, great selection and service
Both whiteCHICAGO and whiteXchange.com were born on the premise that bridal style shouldn’t have to be sacrificed for price. Ursula was newly engaged and desired a designer dress but also wanted to splurge on flowers. Being a clever bride she figured out a way to have the best of both worlds. Ursula went to the cities and suburbs, consignment shop to consignment shop and what she thought was a smart thing to do, made her feel like she was being too frugal. The atmosphere she wanted and expected was only to be found in the designer shops so she ended up purchasing an expensive gown, having wonderful flowers and going over budget!
After the wedding, her cherished gown was taking up too much room in her now “shared” closet and there was no room for it under the bed. Ursula thought it would be great if another bride enjoyed her much loved gown - it was too pretty not to be worn again. She could pass on the love and recoup some of her wedding costs. But the problem was Ursula couldn’t find a place worthy of her treasure. Then, the idea was crafted – open an art gallery for dresses; a sleek, contemporary environment where style, fashion and affordability are embraced.
The vision came to fruition when Stacy Senechalle joined as a partner and confidant. Stacy had always been referred to as “the go to girl” when hunting for favorite fashion finds so it seemed only fitting that she would become the expert that brides call on. She strives to make shopping for the perfect dress an experience that won’t be forgotten.
After three years of helping brides find their designer dream gowns for a fraction of the retail price, Ursula and Stacy decided to expand and reach brides on a national level. They wanted to give brides a convenient way to buy, sell and consign online, which mirrored the in-store whiteCHICAGO experience. They also wanted to reach more than just brides. In April 2009, Ursula and Stacy launched whiteXchange.com, an exclusive online consignment boutique not only for fashion and budget-conscious brides, but for ‘maids and Moms too.
