Very helpful and professional. The only complaint/suggestion I would have is with finding wedding dresses there. They have them all in a very small room where it's difficult to find them. And they just send you in to search for them rather than really helping you find the style you're looking for. But, once the dresses are found they are very helpful! They even sent a card thanking me for visiting.

SORRY TO HAVE TO WRITE THIS REVIEW BUT THE OWNER OF THE SHOP AND THE SEAMSTRESS HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE TO MY COMPLAINT. MY DAUGHTERS DRESS DID NOT CLOSE IN THE BACK BY 2 INCHES!!! WE FOUND THIS OUT 30 MIN BEFORE THE CEREMONY. THERE WAS ALSO A BIG LUMP OF FABRIC AT THE WAIST . THE DRESS WAS PICKED UP AFTER THE FINAL FITTING THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING. MY DAUGHTER'S CRYING COULD BE HEARD IN THE NEXT ROOM AND IN THE HALLWAY OF THE HOTEL.THE HOTEL WEDDING PLANNER GOT A NAPKIN AND SEWED IT INTO THE BACK OF THE DRESS AND THE VEIL SORT OF COVERED IT. THIS GOWN +ALTERATONS COST ALMOST $1300 . A LOT OF MONEY TO ME. IT LOOKED A MESS!! i HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER AND ENCLOSED A PICTURE OF THIS MESS AND ASKED THAT SOME OF THE COST BE REIMBURSED. NO RESPONSE. i CAN ONLY SUGGEST THAT YOU NOT TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS PLACE. OF COURSE ONE COULD SAY THE DRESS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRIED ON, BUT THE OWNER SAID IT WAS READY TO GO. i RELIED ON HER EXPERIENCE . THERE WAS LATE PICK-UP BECAUSE THE SEAMSTRESS HAD BEEN ILL AND WAS RUNNING BEHIND. I WAS SHOCKED THAT THIS NIGHTMARE WAS IGNORED.

I live in Alexandria, got married in Fredericksburg, but I am FROM Williamsburg. I know tons of people who have gotten dresses there and while visiting my mom one weekend a friend took me over and I found THE dress within an hour. The owner of the store, Ellen, is so nice (her daughter and I went to high school together) and the seamstress Laurie is very sweet. The dress took a while to show up but once it did they were ready to accomodate me to get the alterations done. The price here was so much better than any place in NoVa and the selection is beautiful. Unfortunately some of the tailoring did not hold up but I think that may have been the level of physical activity at my reception! Williamsburg Bridal is magnificent and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The customer service was outstanding while dress hunting and also after I had purchased the dress. They had a wide selection of dresses and I was more than pleased with the service I received. All my alterations were done at the shop and they were more than happy to meet with me multiple times.

Ellen at Williamsburg Bridal is the best. The service is personal and responsive. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for a formal dress!

Ellen was extremely helpful when I was picking out my dress and she made sure to keep me up to date on anything concerning the dress. She also gave me the best price around for the dress style I picked. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Ellen and the girls at Williamsburg Bridal are completely amazing. She made everything about buying a wedding dress comfortable, fun, and stress-free. Her tailor did an amazing job and she's got beautiful dresses at VERY reasonable prices. On top of that, she also has gorgeous accessories (I love the headpiece and shoes I got from her). As an out-of-town bride, I was so lucky that she was willing to keep my dress for me until two days before the wedding, ship all of my bridesmaids dresses to my girls, and steam all of the dresses right before the event. Great environment, fabulous people: I would definitely look here for a wedding dress (and they have tuxes, too!).

Ellen and her staff were very attentive. I had to buy my dress off the rack and Ellen worked with me to find a dress within in my budget.

I wasn't prepared for the cost of alterations though, and that took my dress out of my price range. Looking back I would have asked more questions about the cost for that service but I also understand the complexity of wedding dresses and the time it takes to make alterations to such delicate material and embellishments.

Williamsburg Bridal and Forml has the best selection of wedding dress from hampton to richmond. The service is amazing and they don't want you leaving until you found the perfect dress!

My dress was perfect and the people here are very very helpful and make you feel that they are entirely invested in your event. I also got the groomsman's tuxes here and they did a great job with that as well. All around they were the best part of the whole process of planning my wedding!

Williamsburg Bridal is a great place to get your wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses and mother attire! The shop has a cozy, intimate feel and Ellen gives you her full attention when you are there. They have an extensive collection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid/mother/flowergirl dresses. Ellen was always in touch about my order and even went out of her way to meet my mother and I early before the shop opened. She also has a seamstress on staff for any alterations you may need. Highly recommmended!

I absolutely loved working with Mrs. Evans and the rest of the staff at Williamsburg Bridal and Formal! They are incredibly professional, but they also make your visits very personal. They take pride in the products they sell, and their customer service was excellent. Mrs. Evans kept me well informed of the progress on my dress order, as well as the order for my bridesmaids dresses, which helped to lower my level of stress at least a little :) Mrs. Evans, as well as the rest of the staff, are very helpful in picking out bridesmaids colors, dresses, tuxedoes, etc. They are also very good at helping you find the right dress for your body type and style. On top of all that, the prices are reasonable, and there are no hidden costs with alterations. The seamstress is up front about her prices and is willing to work with you if a dress needs to be altered more than once (due to weight fluctuation, etc.). Overall, my experience working with Williamsburg Bridal and Formal was extremely pleasant, and I would recommend this bridal shop to anyone getting married or living in the Williamsburg/Newport News area.
