Mary-Ann was great! She was prompt and very helpful. We tried to write out own ceremony and vows and she had plenty of helpful input to move us along. She also opted to stay for our reception(per our request) and she was a blast and very friendly with all of our guests. She is not in it for the money so she was very very reasonable compared to a lot of the people who wanted to charge upwards of $300 for a 20 minutes ceremony. Thanks Mary-Ann!!!!!!!!

MaryAnn was professional and friendly. Her price was very reasonable for day of wedding coordination. However it turned out we had more things taken care of than we anticipated, and at the end of the day we don't think she did much at our wedding. I supposed she would be good if you were having your reception at a unconventional wedding venue where they don't provide matre'd and other staff.

I thought our Justice of the Peace, Maryann Overbaugh, did an average job officiating our wedding. She was very friendly and made us feel at ease. She always made herself available to meet with us and always provided me with good advice/answers when I had questions. However, I would have liked to feel like she spent more time practicing the reading of our entire ceremony prior to the morning of our wedding. I do not feel that she read with confidence. It actually sounded like she was reading the entire ceremony for the first time during our wedding. She also struggled to pronounce our last name correctly when pronouncing us man and wife at the end of the ceremony. It was rather embarassing for us, but at that point, we weren't going to waste time worrying about it. In my opinion, the reading of the ceremony should have been practiced until it could practically be repeated from memory. And if there was any question on how to pronounce the married last name, she should have spelled it out phonetically and practiced the heck out of it so that no mistakes were made during the actual ceremony.

What officiant services do you provide?

Non-religious Ceremony

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?

I am a Justice of the Peace in Connecticut and have traveled thoughout Connecticut to perform marriages, vow renewals and baby ceremonies.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?

I follow a ceremony format but you choose the words, readings and ceremonies that have meaning for you.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?

Yes! I help couples to create perfect vows for them by supplying vow examples and showing them various ways to present them.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?

If you become a client, I let you select from the many resource materials I have gathered over the years. You may also bring your own readings!

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?

Yes, I attend and help with the rehearsal depending on the need of the client and if the venue does not supply a wedding planner.

What types of weddings do you accommodate?

Civil, Destination, Double Weddings, Eco-Friendly / Green, Military

What wedding planning services do you offer?

Day-of Coordinator, Full Planning, Partial Planning

How many planners do you work with?

This depends on the size of the wedding.

What style of wedding do you specialize in planning?

I rather personalize the wedding to a couple's vision...it isn't about my preference. Your budget and desires are most important to planning a wedding event that suits you.

What sizes of weddings have you coordinated in the past?

200 people.

Which venues have you worked at or are familiar with?

Those local to the Hartford area but also some Connecticut coastal sites
