We did a cupcake wedding cake and I was very impressed by the way it looked. We picked out several different flavors of cupcakes and they were all mixed throughout. Wixey is the best bakery by far and I wouldn't have had anyone else make my wedding cake =)

The cake was incredible. There was not a single person that didn't tell us it was one of the best wedding cakes they had ever had. The decorations were great as well. We showed them some pictures that we liked and they really made a beautiful cake for us. They also coordinated everything with the reception hall and the florist for final decorating and set up. They don't really do e-mail and you have to talk to one of the bakers to get the most accurate information. But the product was delicious at a great value.

My wedding cake was absolutely stunning! It looked amazing and tasted even better! I went in to Wixey's with 2 designs and asked if they could intertwine them. i worked with Michael- one of the owners. He was fantastic! He was honest and explained why he didn't like my designs intertwined- said the cake would look unfinished etc etc. He suggested a few ideas incorporating most of what I initially wanted and I let him run with it. He is the expert on cakes, not me. When I walked in to my reception and saw the cake for the first time I was in awe! It was perfect! We had left over cake and it sat around for 1 week and still tasted just as good a week later! I would definitely recommend a relaxed bride to Wixeys- trust them- they know what they are doing! I would use them again in a heart beat!!

Another bad cake experience. I had ordered some cookies from Wixeys which is how I had heard of them. They called me and told me that they had messed the order up and that the couldn't fix it but that they would give me some extra cut out cookies to correct the mistake. When I arrived the girl at the counter did not know anything about the extra cookies. I told her what happened so to correct it she gave me lemon cookies which I don't like by the way. I was in a hurry so I said whatever I just take my messed up cookies and lemon cookies I'm not going to eat. I told the girl that was getting married and wondered if I could get an appointment or information pricing of their wedding cakes. She girl kind of rudely said see that book over there on the other side of the store, theres a paper over there you can take. There weren't any other customers at that time, I found it strange that after ruining my cookie order they girl wouldn't walk me over show me the information and act interested in gettting my business. Needless to say I didn't get the paper or ever go back to Wixeys. I ended up going with Cherry Lane Cakes. The customer service was outstanding and the price was much better.

Denise at Wixey Bakery, 419-382-6684, was extremely knowledgeable and accomodating to design a cake for our daughter's wedding. We had only 3 weeks to plan and she came through beautifully. She even delivered personally, the cake, along with a very special cake stand that I had requested. Wixey Bakery was highly recommended and has a great reputation in the Toledo and surrounding areas. I give them a BIG 5 STAR rating.

When we first went in to put a deposit down on our cake the girls that helped us were very rude. But I grew up eating from here and love their cakes. When we went back to set up the design of our cake the lady who helped us was wonderful and was a great help and so nice. The cake was beautiful!

Wixey cake is by far the best tasting in Toledo. My husband and I decided to do cupcakes for our 150 guest wedding. I went into Wixey with an idea of what I wanted, but the ladies there helped to cement my ideas and make them a reality. Our cupcakes were beautiful and delicious, and I would recommend this bakery to all of my friends.

I would never recommend Wixey's especially for out-of-town brides like myself. The company has yet to enter the 21st century. It offers brides an outdated book with pictures from the 1970s, including magazine pullouts of cakes the manager assures the company is not capable of doing. They have no fax machine, no e-mail and refuse to offer any current pictures. I gave them a picture of a very simple cake and I was told they could not do that unless they put a special edge on each tier. I told them I wanted smooth edges and they told me that was not possible, which I still don't understand. I made a special trip out-of-town just to take care of the cake and I couldn't get anything done. No one was there that could answer any of my questions and they have since refused to contact me. Unfortunately, the hotel where I am having my reception has an agreement with the bakery so the cost is already wrapped into the reception site and unless I buy two cakes I'm sort of stuck. However, three months later I've yet to get anyone on the phone that can answer my questions or commit to doing my cake. I work really long hours and live far away and I don't have time to call them four times a week and either get a dial tone or an incredibly rude person on the other end who can't do anything to help me. There is absolutely nothing about this place I like. I don't even think the cakes taste very good despite many claims to the contrary.

I got exactly the cake that i wanted. It was gorgeous and the taste was just great!

Wixey's made the exact cake I wanted - but not without a little pushing from me! There were a few parts of the cake they were unsure about being able to make, so I brought some "ideas" with me on how they could make it. It ended up looking exactly the way I pictured! It was just a little frustrating along the way, especially since I had to be the one to come up with ways they could make the cake - isn't that their job?! Anyways, I am very satisfied with my cake and Wixey's cakes taste wonderful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, but be prepared to follow up with them yourselves!

With my package at Tamaron Country Club, a cake from Wixey was included. Therefore, it's hard to rate service and responsiveness because we didn't have to handle much of the process. We called, ordered our dozen of sample cupcakes, ate all of the said cupcakes, decided on our flavors, and then went to Wixey, told them our guest amount and what kind of flavors and design we wanted. All we had to do was drop off the ribbon we wanted on the cake a month in advance. They showed up with the cake at Tamaron and our florist decorated it with fresh flowers. It was delicious and looked great. I only wish the top--the part that we kept--was smaller than the middle; however, they were about the same size. Also, because we did it through Tamaron, we didn't have much flexibility. We didn't get to shop around nor could we chose any flavor we wanted. We had to go with the options they had and they'd only do that white typical cake frosting. We couldn't do any type of flavors or colors.

All in all, though, the cake was delicious, delivered promptly, and looked great.

We received a great cake from Wixeys Bakery.It was exactly how they told me it would come out.It was so beautiful to see it finished with all the detail and decorations.Our guests thought it was a very yummy.The only problem we had was contacting them and getting them to return our calls.But once we saw our finished cake we where satisfied.

Delicious, beautiful cake. They gave us exactly what we wanted--we had so many compliments on how good the cake was. I wouldn't go anywhere else. And the tasting samples were plentiful and free!

Their cake is outstanding. The whole process was very easy. I would definitely recommend them.

The cake was NOTHING like we ordered! I had to go buy leaves for it myself...and then they were not even on the cake. So my cake table (which I left plain bc the cake was supposed to have all these leaves on it) had a plain white cake that was NOTHING like we were promised. The cake tasted delicious though, but they were very expensive.

Wixey's Bakery has, without a doubt, the best cake in the Toledo area. Upon entering this small local shop, I didn't know if they would be able to create the cake of my dreams for 300+ guests. However, I quickly discovered that not only are they able to recreate nearly any cake a bride can imagine, they do it with a smile. Each time I went into the bakery I was greeted by a friendly staff member willing to listen to my needs. They also made me calm in a time of chaos as they did not ask for finalized details until the month before the wedding. At our final meeting, they looked at my pictures, assured me I would get what I wanted and made me feel so relaxed. Upon walking into the ballroom and seeing my cake in the middle of the dance floor, it was more beautiful than I could have imagined! Not only did Wixey's follow my pictures, they made the intricate detailing of the icing so gorgeous, our guests couldn't stop complimenting how it looked. The guests were even more amazed when they tasted the cake, saying it was the best they had eaten at a wedding!

My wedding cake from Wixey's tasted sooo good. The staff was very helpful in my cake selection process. I was very please with the qualtity of my cake and everyone at my wedding complemented on it. The only complaint I had was that the square cake layers were suppose to be staggered and they forgot to stagger them when they set the cake up. My mom noticed it before guest and I arrived at the reception, and the staff at Brandywine Country Club was able to turn it for me. Also, on the corners of the cake there was suppose to be votive candles.....the candles were there, but they forgot to light them until right before my husband and I cut the cake....But all in all, the cake looked lovely and tasted just as good. I love the layer of filling Wixey puts inside their cakes. I love what a variety Wixey has to choose from too and how my family and I were able to sample all the different cake flavors and fillings before I decieded.


Although they are a bit expensive, they create some of the most beautiful and delicious cakes in town. Also, if you call ahead and ask for a sample of wedding cakes, they will bake a dozen cupcakes of each flavor and for free. It was very helpful. Because they are used quite a bit for weddings, they know most of the venues and are very professional.

I would never recommend Wixey, unless you don't want to get what your ordered!
My cake was VERY simple, they had a picture of exactly what I wanted, I paid extra for my decorator to make flower ring to fit between the tiers of the cake, which has a hassel in itself considering the manager would not call the decorator back for weeks to give the dimensions.
When I walked into my recepetion on my one and only wedding day the first words out of my mouth were "That's not my cake"! They did not do the frosting like I asked, and the specially made flower rings were just sitting on the table! When I went back to the bakery to try to get some resolution the manager was VERY rude, refused to refund more then $100, and when she finally gave us that, she THREW the money at us! Literally threw the money accrossed the counter! The irony is when I went back to the bakery to complain the manager was on the phone with another angry customer who's cake was not what they ordered!
