Wolsfelts Victorian Bridal

After shopping at about 4 other bridal stores, I fell in love with the first dress I tried on at Wolsfelts Bridal. I tried on about 10 dresses anyway just to be sure I didn't find anything else there I liked better. I received so many compliments on my dress at the wedding. They were easy to work with, I had to do some fittings way before and last minute due to being out of town. But they got it done no problems. I didn't give a 5 for value because I thought they were a little pricy. Their accessories were pricy as well, but very beautiful.

The dress I got from Wolsfelts was absolutely perfect on my wedding day. The alterations were perfect and the pick up was easy. We got a great value on the dress because of a winter sale. Perfect since I knew the exact dress I wanted. While the dress quality and value were exceptional, we were not as satisfied with the quality of service we received. Since my dress was a discontinuing style and on sale, it seemed like we weren't as valued as customers. There were a lot of additional services and fees that were added to the dress that we had to carefully examine and we had to keep on track of our payment ledger very carefully since there was confusion with receipt write-ups. Also, it didn't seem that alterations and sales had clear communication with each other and weren't very professional when talking about the other (blaming and speculating over confusion). We were drastically underquoted for alterations for the gown by the sales person, so that was a shock when we actually met the seamstress. It also seemed that while the gowns were reasonably priced compared to other bridal stores, the services and extras were higher. They seemed to press additional undergarments slips and add-ons even with the highest quality structured gowns that don't need any of these things. The pressing was well worth the price, the dress came out beautifully and alterations were extremely well done and customized.

My experience at Wolsfelt's was AMAZING! They were so helpful and very easy to work with. I walked in and had no idea what I wanted my dress to look like. As i tried on quite a few dresses I finally had an idea in my head. I went to a few other bridal salons to look at their dresses I found the one I wanted and immediately went back to Wolsfelt's and asked if they could order it. Of course they could!!! When my dress came in I had to have it altered and the people that helped with that did an AMAZING job. My dress was everything I ever dreamed of. We also got our bridesmaids dresses there. Again all my girls enjoyed working with them and they made the entire experience stress free. I would definitely recommend them!!!!

My wedding dress, the bridesmaid dresses and the tuxedos were purchased at Wolsfelts. Although we had some kinks with the bridesmaid dresses (designer issues), the staff at Wolsfelts was very helpful and made sure everything turned out perfectly. Jackie, my bridal consultant, was the best I could ask for. She made the experience of picking out a dress fun and every detail throughout the process was explained. She made me very comfortable and was always so friendly to my family. Donna in tuxedos was so patient and helpful. My husband could not pick out the color of his tux or his vest/tie and she went along with our 15,000 visits to the shop and she got us every sample he requested. When the wedding came around, she was prompt in getting different sizes sent to our hotel and she just made sure everything was just right. I didn't even know about Wolsfelt's until a week before I went dress shopping and I am so glad I found them - Wolsfelts is a gem in Aurora!

Donna went above and beyond with her service! She brought a tux and spare shirt to our rehearsal dinner which was completely beyond what we expected of her.

The Wolsfelt's team always goes above and beyond to help you! They made one of the hardest days...the easiest. Special thanks to Laurie that helped design my dress for Matthew! The dress was stunning and the experience was effortless. Thanks again.

The consultant remembered me each time I came in along with my sister and aunt, even when we didn't have an appointment. Worked with me and all my indecisiveness, Jackie, is simply wonderful!

I absolutely love this place! Both me and two of my closest friends have ended up getting there wedding dress here. Such an amazing selection, a great group of people working there and flexible with everything-they special ordered my bridesmaids dresses here as I found them at another store and they didn't usually carry them. The alterations on my dress were perfect as well. The only downfall is that they aren't open on Sundays and Mondays.

I bought my dress from Wolsfelts and was absolutely blown away by the experience. I worked with Andi when looking for my wedding dress. She was such a delight to work with. She was professional, patient, and took so much time with me to make sure I found a dress I would love. And I did!!! If you are looking for beautiful, unique wedding dresses with a great experience, you should choose Wolsfelts.

A pleasure to work with! I found the perfect dress just after trying on 10 dresses! They are very personable and nice to work with. Help you pull dresses by the style you explain that you like. They are a family owned business and are not pushy towards any sale. They are located in a neat old house looking building. I like them because they are one of a kind! I also got my bridesmaid dresses from them and they turned out perfect! They do alterations there for you (but you don't have to have them done there) but they do a fabulous job! They also sell bridal accessories and shoes!

Let me start by saying I absolutely LOVED my dress. Was unique and different and fashion-forward...something I couldn't find at other bridal shops. However, the environment of Wolsfelts isn't very inviting. They have a big smelly dog, the owner's dog, that roams the store. I couldn't believe it! Thousand dollar dresses and a dog is walking around. I tried on dresses in July...and it was hot! The place was not air conditioned and I was sweating my booty off! Not how I pictured this moment to go. They did great alterations but their alterations were ridiculous! In total...we spent about $850 in making a sweetheart neckline...taking it in...putting in a different zipper and making the bustle. Be prepared...or take it elsewhere.

My dress turned out beautiful and necieved many compliments . I was called out while in a fitting for writing a review about all the awful things that had happened, with my dress on! Very unprofessional! Any mistake they fixed they made it seem like a big favor to you. Not the best experience for the only time you get to do it in yor life :(

The level of service does not meet what is expected if you are purchasing a couture wedding gown. Unfortunately, my dress designer cannot be found at high end boutiques or dept. stores in Chicago, so I went here to get the dress that I wanted. For spending $4,000 on a dress, I was not given the follow-up attention with fittings that you would get with a boutique specializing in couture gowns. If you are shopping for a prom dress or cheaper bridal gown, this may suffice but not for those who expect more individualized attention for a high-end purchase.

I purchased my wedding dress from Wolsfelts back in October. Jackie helped me find a dress. She was more than helpful and was very patient (I'm very indecisive). I called her several times to ask questions about accessories and she always promptly called me back. My dress came in a bit early, which I was happy about. The alterations went smoothly. My mom and I were a bit disappointed that they didn't think it was necessary to try on my dress the week before the wedding. Also, when trying on dress they didn't want us to take pictures. Pictures HELP me decide which dress to get. I wish they could understand that. They were a bit rigid when negotiating the price of the gown. I also found it funny when I wanted to order a velvet sash for my dress and they wanted $100.00 for the sample (that was dirty). I ended up going to JoAnn fabrics and buying a roll of velvet ribbon for $3.00- same thing. Wolsfelts location is pretty awful (they need to update the inside of it too). Driving there is a pain, but the service was good and overall I had a pleasant experience with the entire process.

This was the first store I went to when I started looking for my wedding dress. The second dress I tried on here I fell in love with, but my mom was not with me so I wanted to wait to buy it. When my sister went to take a picture of the dress so we could show my mom, the saleswoman quickly asked her to put the camera away. We weren't allowed to take any pictures. Then I asked who the designer of the dress was so I could try to show my mom a picture online, and she refused to tell me. She said she would try to find out, but when she came back she said she didn't know! Needless to say, I didn't go back there, but I ended up finding the dress after searching for HOURS on theknot. I called other local stores to see if they carried the dress, and they did...for $600 LESS! Anyway, I got that dress, but don't waste your money at this store because they mark up the prices and won't tell you who makes the dress because they don't want you to get it somewhere else. Crazy experience!

Laurie and Carmen of Wolsfelt's couldn't have made me look or feel any better than they did for my wedding day.


I absolutely HATED bridal gown shopping and spent more time on that than ANY of my other wedding arrangements. I visited over 10 stores and tried on probably more than 100 gowns (I am NOT exaggerating!).


Somehow Laurie just felt what I needed, what suited my figure, and what would be the most flattering. My Pronovias (Melbourne, Spring 2010) gown was absolutely stunning. I felt beautiful in it and I received many compliments. Most importantly, since I was so difficult to shop for, Laurie figured out the unique touch that I needed, as I was demanding on some specific requests and intricacies.


Carmen, the alterations specialist, customized my gown beautifully. She made sure that every square millimeter fit me like a glove and that all the tailoring was perfectly suited for my shape.


Wolsfelt's is an excellent boutique in that it has an amazing selection for everyone's budget, has a unique touch for detail, is very accomodating, and the staff is friendly and not conceited. I wanted an upscale experience, and I got it without any unnecessary hoops to jump through.

Wolsfelt's was recommended to me by a friend of mine who also got her dress there. She raved about their excellent service, so I decided to go. They were the first place that I decided to look at. Wolsfelts is a small boutique that feels very home-y. Everyone is super nice there and they really take care of you. I tried on two dresses and found one that I absolutely loved, but it was a bit out of my price range. Not ridiculous, just more than I intended to spend. I decided to go look around at other bridal stores, but in the end could not stop thinking about that dress! I went back and decided to purchase that one. I also chose bridesmaid dresses from there that were just beautiful. Now, if you are looking for cheap dresses, you won't really find those here. Even though you pay a bit more than you would in a chain bridal store, the excellent service and quality of the dress is so worth it! I would definitely recommend Wolsfelts to anyone!

I went searching for the perfect dress at many boutiques, but found it at Wolsfelt. They have a very large selection of bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, mother dresses, etc. They were honest with me as I was trying on several dresses, telling me which were flattering and which were not (something I truly appreciated!). I also ordered my bridesmaids' dresses through them. One thing I wasn't crazy about is that they didn't let you take pictures of any dresses, unless you purchased them.

All of us had our dresses altered through Wolsfelt also and they did a great job. They didn't cut the material off of the bottom of my dress until I approved the length (another thing I was grateful for - I have heard horror stories about bad hems!). One thing I will say is that a couple of my bridesmaids' were late for their fitting appointments (we called and told them we were going to be late) and the seamstresses were very rude to us. I understand that they were busy, but if you work in customer service, you cannot take things out on your customers. Wolsfelt will hold on to your dress until a few days before the wedding, which is great and something not everywhere does. I would definitely recommend Wolsfelt to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding gown.

I received nothing but compliments on my dress the day of my wedding. Everyone wanted to know where it was from because it was so unique. Wolsfelts did a good job throughout. The bustle on my dress was very difficult to create, but after what I'm sure took her hours and hours it looked amazing. I would definitely recommend checking out their inventory!

I loved my dress and got it at a trunk show there for 15 percent off. They do keep very busy but will try to get you in when you need it. They do call you quite often until you make an appt. THey have many many styles, lots of jewelry and a wonderful tea room next door. I suggest checking it out!!

I shopped at a handful of stores for my wedding gown and Wolsfelts was by far the best. I was instantly comfortable with Heather and knew I would be purchasing my dress from her - it was just a matter of which one! We found the perfect dress and amazingly enough it came in a month early!!!!

This bridal shop knows what they are doing! What I liked most about Wolsfelt's was the fact that they carried dresses that weren't simply the latest "fad" in wedding gowns. I wanted something very classic, with lace. I did not want something strapless which is very popular right now. Wolsfelt's had so many styles to select from that were what I was looking for. I found me dress, it was ordered, it came in about the time they had said it would, I had my alterations which took only 2 fittings and my dress was perfect. They were great.

I went to Wolsfelt's Victorian Bridal for my wedding dress, and had an absolutely fantastic experience there. The staff is extraordinarily helpful, and paired me with one single bridal consultant, who helped me throughout (her name is Ginny - if you decide to use Wolsfelt's, I recommend her without hesitation). She was nothing but supportive, and did an excellent job discerning my taste and price range - there was no pressure to spend additional money outside of our budget.

The shop has a great selection of gorgeous dresses that fit and flatter all body types, and all of the bridal consultants are incredibly knowledgeable. They also have bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses, and a number of accessories, which they catalog very well for your future reference. I would undoubtedly recommend this store to anyone in the greater Chicagoland area who is looking for a fantastic dress.

This place is amazing, the people are awesome and they care! My dress was one of a kind and I chose to have a burgundy accent on my dress. I looked like such a princess! The jewelry and hairpieces here are fantastic too! I could barely walk past the display case without trying something on and buying it! Definitely recommend!!

Wolsfelts came highly recommended. This salon has been used in my family for many years, my mother, aunts and cousins all found their dresses or dresses for the bridal party there. As in any process involving women and weddings, we had a few bumps, but with those bumps I was comforted by the consultant I used, Dawn the owner and a little rearranging with the alteration team. I couldn't have been happier, even with the tiny bit of drama! I felt beautiful, and would recommend others to look at their collection.

They did a decnt job. Their dresses are not cheap, but are of good quality. They were fairly helpful along the way.

Wolsfelt's is wonderful. Two of my best friends and I got married the same summer, and all three of us got our dresses as Wolsfelt's. It's so nice to get personalized service, and the woman who helped me tried to listen very closely to what I was looking for and what I didn't like about the ones I tried on. The alterations were done exactly right. I really have no complaints! They even gave us advice about the tux shirt when we brought over a shirt and vest for the groom to compare against my dress (and they took the time to get my dress out). Wonderful service!

I purchased my dress at Wolsfets just shy of a year before my wedding. We originally worked with Genny who did an amazing job! We actually purchased my dress of the rack and it was such a great deal-and fit me just about perfectly. I only had to have one alteration to bring in the top of the dress. Everything with they went so smooth. When I had found my dress i described what i had been thinking for my bridesmaids and within a minuet she was back with exactly what i described! So in one day I was able to purchase all dresses for my wedding! I have to say that they only reason that i gave them a 4.5 on service is because occasional when I would go back to try on my dress i would get another woman, who i was not pleased with at all. She did not show me or my family that top quality service until Genny who really did a fantastic job. They also do any alterations right there - the woman that work down there do an amazing job. When you get your dress it is just perfect, and they really are try professions when looking and finding any small flaws to the dress and fixing it.

I purchsed my wedding dress at Wolsfelts Bridals in Aurora. Their bridal shop is amazing! The people are very friendly and their wide range of dresses has something for everyone. Its almost as if their bridal consultants know exactly what you are thinking. I went in there with an idea of what I wanted and they nailed it right on the head. i even ended up going back and buying my vail and headpeice there too because it all just match so perfectly. All their dresses are designer hand made dresses too so you have to make sure to go in early because it can take up to 6 month for your dress to be shipped there. They can make anything the way that you want it too. I saw a necklace I liked too but it had some little gold pieces in it that I didn't want so they said that all they needed to know was what color I wanted and they could get it made for me that way. We're going to look at our bridesmaids dresses there in a few days too and they told us that any dress in the store could be made in any color we wanted and you could even change lengths from tea length dresses to full length and vice-versa. I just love this store they have everything! And the atmosphere is amazing too because its a family owned shop so they are more than willing to go the extra mile to tailor to all your needs!

I used Wolsfelts for bridesmaids dresses after visiting other area bridal shops. They provided the cheaper price compared to the competition and were easy to work with. Appointments were always needed in order to ensure the best service as it does get busy there especially during the busy prom and wedding season.

I absolutely loved everything about my experience. The staff are warm, experienced, and kind as well as being extremely professional. They modified the design of my dress slightly for me (moving a bow from the front to the back) in addition to the regular fitting, and each step was a joy. I would recommend them to anyone as their selection is good but they are also attentive to quality dresses and quality service.

I got my wedding dress here at a reasonable cost (minus alterations, which upped the price by a couple hundred). I was able to find an informal style dress, and the women who worked here were very understanding and great to work with. Alterations took a while, but less time than ordering a dress!!

I got my wedding gown at Wolsfelts, and we also got our bridesmaid dresses there as well. An appointment is necessary, and my consultant, Jen, was fantastic! She found tons of dresses within my budget, and brought me all kinds of different styles and shades of white & ivory for me to try. She was great at finding dresses that fit my body type, and my height, and she even found 'petite' dresses for me - the one I ended up buying needed NO alterations. (Not even hemming... the first thing I have not had to hem!) It was perfect for me and my style!

I showed Jen a photo of a dress we had found at David's Bridal that we liked, but didn't have the color we liked. She found several dresses of similar style for my girls to try on, in the right color. We ended up finding a similar style dress - but better! The prices were good, customer service was outstanding.

I would recommend Wolsfelts to anyone!

Exactly what I expected dress shopping to be. My consultant has worked there for 30 something years and knew not only what would look best on my body, but what kind of things they had in stock. She helped pick some dresses as did I and then helped me in and out of them to look the best. Of course the ones she picked looked amazing and mine didn't look so hot. I ended up going with one that she had picked after listening to what I was looking for and finding the perfect dress.

The customer service I received at Wolsfelt's was outstanding!! I had a destination wedding in Las Vegas and their help was tremendous! All dresses, tuxedos and alterations were done well in advance and I had no stress that comes along with planning a wedding, let alone a destination wedding! Everyone was kind, helpful and always answered any questions I had. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies that work at Wolsfelts!

This bridal shop is housed in an old Victorian home. Despite the small space, the shop holds hundreds of uniquely gorgeous dresses. The woman helping me to find a dress was immensely helpful and found many dresses to match the exact style I was looking for. I found my dress in only 2 hours!

Bridal Gown Purchase Review: Wolsfelt's is a small family owned Bridal salon. I received the most personal service there. The person who was helping me actually pulled some gowns she thought I would like that I had not found for myself. When I tried one on, I thought it was pretty but not quite right for me, but she helped me to see it differently by changing the neckline—all of a sudden it was THE dress. Everyone in the shop was incredibly helpful and I felt like they really cared whether or not I looked and felt beautiful.

Bridal Alterations Review: The family owned atmosphere made it feel personal and like everyone in the store was involved in making you look perfect. The service was unbelievable. I was an out of town bride, and they constantly worked around my schedule and made fitting times and dates when it was most convenient for me. The seamstress who worked on my dress was a magician. The dress I bought was a tank style with delicate beading all over the bodice. She turned it into a perfect sweetheart, strapless dress, with a scalloped back, and moved all of the beading appropriately. The dress fit me like a glove.

My mom got her wedding dress at Wolsfelt, so we thought we'd go there first to look because I had heard nightmares about bigger chain stores. We ended up getting my dress and my bridesmaid dresses there. When we first went, we were told that all of their dresses started at $x amount (i can't remember the exact amount b/c it was awhile ago). I asked if they had any dresses from prior seasons that would be marked down. (They had tons of dresses in back that are marked down--you just have to ask about it.) My issue was that once I asked about prior season dresses, the attitude of the saleswoman almost instantly changed. I still spent a considerable amount on a dress, so it was irritating to be treated poorly.
The seamstress from their business was extremely friendly and helpful.

Although the service was less than average, I still like my dress a lot!!!

There are very nice people that work at this place and they are so in tune with the buyer it is nothing like a davids bridal. They have a huge room for the bride to try dresses on and the woman there are very good at finding all the right things the bride is looking for.

A friend told me about this independent bridal shop and it was well worth the hour drive each way from where I live to Aurora. I purchased my wedding dress here and found my bridesmaid's dresses here as well. I brought several pictures of dresses I liked for myself and our sales rep spent time going through them all and then choosing dresses that were similar. The very first dress she had me try on was the one I ended up purchasing for only about $800 before alterations, which are also done on site. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I could not be any happier with the service and the beautiful dresses!

Wolsfelts was the perfect answer to something different and unique. I had looked at dresses at a number of larger "department stores" and wasn't pleased with the selections because I felt they all looked the same. Wolsfelts was new and different and a family owned store so the service was very personal. They took care of everything from the alterations to the ironing and pressing and storing of my gown after the wedding. They also provide bridesmaids dresses and mother of the brides and groomsmen tuxs. Although I only used them for my wedding gown, I would recommend their service for all it.

The personal attention this shop offers treats brides like princesses. I never felt rushed, no matter how busy they were. They kept track of every part of my wedding including my bridesmaid dresses, which I ordered from them as well. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Before you buy, you have to stop in and take a look.

I had picked out a bridesmaid dress, put down a $75 deposit, and paid for one dress up front. A week later, I decided that I wanted to cancel my order. They said that ALL money that I put down was nonrefundable, not just my deposit. The dresses were over $200, which was part of the reason I wanted to cancel my order. They hadn't even placed the order with the manufacturer, but my money was nonrefundable? I feel that if you haven't received an item yet, you are entitled to your money back, minus any deposits. I also had 2 bridesmaids that were out of town. They had a professional seamstress take their measurements. When they called this bridal shop, they had them order dresses that were 2-3 sizes too big! Needless to say, they then had to spend money having them altered, and they were so big that the shape of the dress had changed after the alterations. Beware! I would NEVER recommend this place despite their "awards" that they claim to have.

Had a consultation with Heather, she was great, tried on TONS of dresses within the hour appointment, found it the same day, came back and bought it the next week. Everyone there is so friendly, and they really seem to know you by the time you get married.

They were awesome. I tried several other dress shops prior to going to Wolsfelts but no one was as friendly or detailed as they were. I felt like I was the priority instead of how much they were going to make or how many girls they could work with at once.

I bought my dress, veil and jewelry here. I also had extensive alterations done. I loved everything and received so many compliments. The only thing I did not like was the fact that all the brands were removed from the dresses. I didn't know if I was paying a fair price for my dress because I didn't know what dress it was!

The staff was wonderful and extremely patient while I took three visits to finally find my perfect dress. Everything was professional and very affordable! My aunt got her dress here back in the 70s, and still has great memories of this store! Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved Wolsfelts. My hair dresser recommended them and I was completely happy. They have beautiful dresses that are well priced. What made the experience lovely was the ladies working there. They were extremely helpful and very compassionate about your wedding and your dreams.
