Sooyeon was wonderful! She did a fabulous job with my makeup. I flew in from out of town and had to have my trial done the day before my wedding ceremony. Jira was very responsive, sending me detailed e-mails regarding their services and made the experience easy to arrange long distance.

Wowpretty was one of the first vendors i hired almost immediately after i got engaged. I already knew that Jira was one of the best in the industry and i booked her quick because she gets booked up fast! I didn't even go in for a trial and went with my gut that she would do a great job. I ended up doing a trial after i booked her and it came out exactly the way i envisioned. She understood that i wanted to look natural but still have color. She took her time to make my hair and makeup perfect. On the day of the wedding, she and four of her makeup artists all arrived on time at my hotel. They worked their butts off to get myself, 8 of my bridesmaids and 2 mothers done in 3 hours! Jira made my makeup perfect and it stayed put all day ( 6 am-midnight) ! She is extremely talented at what she does. Do not hesitate to book her if you are looking for a top notch makeup/hair team!

Sorry for too late for the review. First, I want to Thank you Miss Elena, is from Wowpretty Professional makeup hair agency. Elena did my hair for my wedding, my hair looked great. I got so many compliments on it. It didn't really look like my trial run, but I was the one, who changed the hair updo to be hair down. My hair looked great and better LOL.

My makeup was nice. Elena started makeup at 5am-stayed with my reception(dinner)
Elena stayed with me all day and I purchased her diamond touchup package, which was $100 / hour but I got 20% discount because I booked her almost a year before my wedding day.

I have My trial session 2 times, I had to say Thank you so much for Jira of Wowpretty, all the fast respond emails all my questions and set up my 2 trial sessions. Jira was so helpful and super nice.

My trial 1st one was my engagement 8 months before the day and 2nd one was my wedding trial, which happened 1 wedding before my wedding day since I cut my hair too short so why we had the 2nd trial session and I bought the hair extension from Wowpretty in order to get the look I wanted (hair down)

Jira does amazing work. My sister found her over 4 years ago when she was married. I was only a bridesmaid then, but I remember thinking how much I liked how she did our hair and make-up. Jira did my wedding hair and makeup. It looked great! Got multiple compliments. It was exactly what I wanted- which she made sure of. She is very easy to work with and very professional. I would recommend her to future brides.

Jira is amazing. Not only is she beautiful but she is also a very kind person. The thing I valued most able Jira is her honesty. So many vendors will tell you want to hear---not Jira---she straight up tells you the truth. You don't know how much I appreciated that.

She did an outstanding job helping me create the "look" I wanted for my wedding---1920s old Hollywood. My make-up and hair never looked so great. They looked so good, I now have her cut, color, and style my hair on a regular basis at her salon in San Mateo! Her team also did H & M for 6 other people in my wedding. All were pleased with her work and looked great.

Finally, Jira made communication super easy. She is very responsive over email, always returning calls/emails within 24 hours. Her contracting is straight forward and she was even EARLY to do my H & M on wedding day.

I hired Jira and her team to do hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my future sister-in-law, and the mothers. Jira is the owner and head makeup artist for Wow Pretty. She is very talented and she makes what she does look effortless. Her team is professional, friendly, and, most importantly, very good at what they do. Jira did a terrific job at my hair & makeup trial and it was a no brainer to hire her. Additionally, if you want a guy's opinion, my now husband thought my hair and makeup from the trial looked great too. She has tons of experience and her website shows all the brides she has worked with and the positive testimonials. She's very responsive via email. On the wedding day, she and her team showed up promptly and efficiently got to work since we had so many people. The final product was gorgeous - natural, not overworked; it didn't even feel like I had makeup on. The airbrushing is awesome. It makes your skin look so smooth. Everyone was satisfied with their hair and makeup. I can vouch that all of the women's hair held up the entire night. It rained during my ceremony and my makeup still held. I thought her prices were reasonable given the quality product I was getting. With Jira and her team helping you on the day of, it's one less thing you need to worry about. As a bride, that's gold.

The first thing I learned when I started planning my wedding and looking for vendors was that everyone wants to be your friend, get your business, and take your money. I had already seen several stylist, and was actually already booked with one, but I booked with them because they were good nothing more.

At the trial, Jira was more than just a stylist, asking me for what I envisioned. She is an honest friend, someone who I felt wouldn't let me not have a beautiful and glamorous wedding. As a bride with a vision, you may think you know exactly what you want, but Jira would put her foot down on things she just knew wouldn't end up well. Take her advice, she sees many brides before and after and probably hears it all (the good, the bad, the thank you, and the regrets). I took her advice, and am so glad that I did. In fact, it's changed how I do my everyday make up, and I get compliments even though I'm not a bride anymore.

Other stylist, just did what I asked, and yes I looked beautiful, but you could tell they didn't share the same passion for my wedding day as I did. After my trial, I cancelled my other stylist and booked with WowPretty. Trust me, you know you've found the right one, when they share the same excitement about your wedding as you do. I had helped by Jira Wowpretty 's CEO and had Nancy and Anna to do my makeup & hair, 5 Bridesmaid, and 2 moms for my wedding @ Sonoma. They finished with my group just 3.30 hours. I would recommend WowPretty for professional wedding make-up and hair needs. Jira and her team did a wonderful job on me and my bridal party. My make-up & hair stayed on the whole night- from 10 am to 12 midnight and my photographer was impressed and commented that he has never seen make-up stayed that long throughout the day! Jira was a pleasure to work with on my wedding day. I had two ceremonies in one day and she was able to accomodate my bridal party and myself for the entire day. Jira is not your ordinary makeup artist, she is a makeup magician! Having worked with a few other makeup artists on previous occasions, I can truly speak to the difference. She does not make the stiff and chalky faces that you often see on traditional brides. Rather, her artwork is very light and natural-looking, as well as fashionable. My fiance was so amazed by the results of my hair & makeup trial that he kept saying "it's like the work of magic!" I had always dreamed of walking down the aisle looking my best. Jira is amazing! I worked with Jira for my engagement session and also on my wedding day. She is very good about listening to what I want and was able to create the looks that I wanted for my engagement session and my wedding. She and her team worked on me and my 3 bridesmaids and everyone looked so beautiful! On my wedding day, I had originally wanted my hair down. It was an outdoor ceremony, but just my luck, there were STRONG winds outside. Jira was quick, calm, and collected with plan B and ended up giving me a beautiful updo and it stayed put! Jira and her team are very professional -- they arrived a few minutes early and finished in time for my wedding photo sessions to begin. This type of professionalism is so important because you do not need added stress on your wedding day.

Jira was such a fun person! She makes you feel at ease the minute you sit down her make-up chair. SHe can make you smile and laugh and you forget your being nervous for your big day. So you feel calm and ready to take on the day. Her make-up was flawless, she made me even more beautiful without changing my appearance too much. She also did a great job with my hair. My hair is short and it was kind of difficult to figure out what kind of style to do with it but she was able to do wonders with my hair. I was very happy with Jira on my wedding day.

I was a BM for my best friend wedding. she hired Jira / Wow Pretty on her wedding 5 years ago so now It was my turn and look for a good makeup artists and hair stylists for my wedding 7/10/2009. I decided to hire Wow Pretty team which had all what I wanted airbrush, Makeup, hair, travel, big team, and touchup needed

The price was OVER my budget but unfortunately that I liked her/her team. I, 7 BMS, and 2 moms needed M&H done. The result was so excellent. Jira was SO Great and also Sylive, Yoong, Elena, and another guy I can not remember his name. Our M&H was last - midnight but started from 8am , not needed touchup much just for one time lipstick and a power touchup which provided from Jira cosmetic, called Jira (couture ) I think, and also they were a good team work and good attitude. I would recommend to every bride.

They had positive energy, on time, and natural professional. A makeup artist will be the 1st vendor on your wedding day so it is very important to choose the right team to start on your big day. it is not just only M&H for wedding that they can do but also provide you a good hi-light and cut before my big day.

This review is coming nearly a year after my wedding, but here it goes.

I was very impressed by all the rave reviews I'd read about Jira. When I contacted her, she was very responsive, which, when you're a nervous bride, is so, so important. When I met her, she was kind, friendly, gave opinions and suggestions, but also really tried to listen to what I was looking for.

But... she smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. She airbrushed my foundation, raving about how natural it looked while giving great coverage, but my skin looked so crinkled every time I smiled, I felt it aged me a good 10+ years. I wanted a nude lip, but every color she tried on me was really bright. I also wanted smokey eyes, but explained I didn't want the color to go too high on my lid. The color went really high on my lid. Then came the hair. I wanted loose, natural waves. I knew my hair was capable of this, because I did it myself all the time (I was hoping a pro could give me a touch more volume & staying power), but it came out straight and very flat until the last few inches, where I had Shirley Temple like curls. She blamed it repeatedly on my haircut. Needless to say, I was glad I had booked a trial. While she was wonderful to be around, and excellent at responding to any and all inquiries right away, I left my trial feeling, well, really, really ugly.

Jira did my engagement session and wedding day hair and makeup last year and I couldn't be happier with the results on both occasions. She made me look and feel so beautiful and glamorous. (One of my guy friends even told me that I looked like a model at the wedding!) Usually, I don't like to wear much make-up but Jira is truly an artist and can make anyone feel/look beautiful and natural, which is pretty significant when it comes to wedding events. I have some acne scarring and blemishes and I was afraid that these would be visible in the wedding photographs but she was able to conceal these imperfections and still have the makeup look natural. Jira is really sweet, professional, easy to talk to, responsive, detail-oriented, and good at listening to what you want. She really takes the time to listen and understand what you're looking for.

For both my engagement session and wedding day, I had the airbrush makeup and fake lashes put on - which I highly recommend for the bride. The makeup lasts for over 12+ hours and Jira gave me a complimentary touch-up kit for use throughout the day. (Although, I didn't have to touch up at all for the rest of the day). I brought my own lipstick (but this is a more personal thing because I'm more picky about this). Depending on the package you choose, Jira will help you figure out how much time is needed to get everyone's H/M done and also anything else that might come up.

On the wedding day, Jira and her assistant arrived punctually at my hotel and they were both so fun, friendly, and professional to work with. They did such a great job on me and my bridesmaids. (I'm Asian and a few of my bridesmaids are Caucasian but all of our makeup came out beautiful). Also, our hair stayed in place all day, which is pretty impressive given all the moving around.

Her services were worth every penny and more. Wedding hair and makeup is so important! And so is trust. After the engagement session, I knew that I could trust Jira and WoWPretty for the big day. I cannot recommend WoWPretty enough.

Wowpretty was really amazing on my wedding day. When I went for my trial with Jira she gave me the exact look I wanted and dreamed of. On my wedding day she went right to work and created that same look with no problems. Jira is really talented and takes her business very seriously, however, I feel like I made a good friend when I met Jira. It started from the moment Jira took my phone call, she was very pleasant and sweet and worked to fit my trial into my busy schedule. When you work in the legal field days are long and nights longer so that alone helped me out tremendously. When my Mom and I showed up for my trial Jira was great. Anyway, Jira did a fantastic job at the trial, and when I was finished my Mom was so impressed that she asked Jira to do her makeup for the day too, her trial was the following week and she was just as impressed, she said all her friends at her club were jealous and couldn't stop complimenting her. They wanted her secret. I think my Mom scheduled the appointment on the day of her club meeting on purpose. Great move Mom.

As for the wedding, I can't say enough. It was just such a great day and Jira was a big part of it. It was everything I dreamed of and I was so excited with the way I looked, I figured that it must be the way someone like Charlize Theron feels on Oscar night. The dress, the makeup, the day, it just all was incredible, and I had to write this review because Jira and Wowpretty were a big part of making that way.

Sylvie from Wow pretty did my make-up for my wedding. We did the Air-brush make-up. Our trial went well, but for the day-of, I requested Sylvie make some minor adjustments to her original make-up. She recalled our colors and original plan to the dot and was very flexible about my requests. Sylvie made me look gorgeous and I still looked like myself, which was exactly what I asked of her. My make-up lasted all day and all night. I only had to re-touch my lipstick and blot some oil off twice. Sylvie was a pleasure to work with, she is very sweet and accomodating, she listens to your concerns and requests and I would highly recommend Sylvie to others.

Jira is Great! I would recommend to every bride. My wedding was wonderful. Especially, I had Jira and her team on my wedding for me and my 5 bridesmaids. She has a lot of experience plus her great personality. Very easy to work with. I'm so glad I made the right decision. All my bridesmaids loved it too. I had my trial with Senior Stylist Yoong at Wowpretty and I absolutely loved her. My wedding was on March 2009, and I was so delighted that I found someone who can do an amazing job with air brush makeup. I usually never wear makeup, but after the trial, my mom and sister were very impressed with Yoong's abilities.On the day of the wedding she came with another stylist to take care of my bridesmaids so that she could focus on me.

She arrived on time and did a wonderful job and wowpretty is a great vendor that you can count on for your wedding day.

Jira and her team were great. She did a really good job with my make-up, but my eyeliner started to run during the reception. My hair stayed up all day. She was on time to my hotel room and was professional (while still having fun) the entire time. We were a little bit rushed to finish at the end, but I think that was because I had a lot more hair to put up than she anticipated, which wasn't her fault. (At the trial, she told me I needed to cut it, but I didn't because I donated my hair the next day). The trial went really well, and she took a lot of pictures and sent them to me right away.

Jira of Wow Pretty did such a great job on my hair and makeup on my wedding day! My bridesmaids kept telling me how amazing I look and how they were impressed that my makeup stayed on the ENTIRE day! I looked beautiful but yet natural and like myself. I'm usually oily and shiny throughout the day but Jira's airbrush makeup made me matte and comfortable. My hair was also very elegant and stayed the whole day and night!

Jira and her team did an AMAZING job (just like everyone else stated). I did do a trial with her first, and that's why I decided to book her for my Oct wedding. Everyone showed up on time...like she promised and ended on time...like she promised. Only boo boo made was on my part. I cut my hair 3 months before the wedding with someone else and thought it would grow out on time. Bad mistake. But she still was able to do what was done at our trial.

I was asking if she'd stay with me the whole day, and she said the make up would stay, and not to worry and it did!! And so did everyone elses. I did the airbrush foundation (a must!) and it looked flawless. My gf/sister/mom makeup stayed also. I wouldn't say she's the most afforable, but I thought it was worth every penny!!

Jon and I went to a trial with Jira at her Burlingame Studio. I really like her work especially her eyelashes technique. I went back to work after we were finished and all my co-workers loved it. It lasted until dinner with my family and lovely future husband LOL. All of my co-workers and my family loved the amazing of airbrush foundation. You know most of men don't like women to wear a lot of makeup. Her air-brushing teachnique is super light, not cakey and lasts a long time.

Jira is awesome. She works magic with hair and makeup! I could not have been more pleased with how she did my hair and makeup on our wedding day, and it lasted all day long--from 6am to 11pm...what more could you ask for?? As with any makeup/hair artist, it's really helpful to bring photos of what you want done. Jira can take one look at a photo and instantly reproduce it--she is great.

Jira and her assistant did an amazing job on our wedding day! I *loved* how my hair and make-up looked--it felt so natural, and Jira worked wonders with my hair--it stayed intact ALL day (6am-midnight!). She really knows what she's doing!!

The WowPretty team did a fantastic job on our wedding day. They have to work on 7 people within 4 hours - in addition to the Bride, they have to work on 4 bridesmaids, MoB and my sister in law. Jira is wonderful. I got some many compliments on my hair. It was quite a difficult and time consuming style, but she pulled through like the pro that she is. I use make-up infrequently, so relied on photos from a recent issue of a Hong Kong wedding magazine to convey the effect I wanted to achieve: a natural, glowing look that is fancier than usual, but not overly dramatic. Jira listened and also gave feedback and pointed out which looks would work better for a “real life” wedding, as opposed to on models in a studio.

I decided to try a few new techniques that I had not previously considered. The first was the air-brush foundation. All I did (and Jira continuously gave clear instructions) was close my eyes and hold my breath while she sprayed liquid foundation all over my face. Just felt like rain mist which dried very quickly into one smooth covering. Highly recommended.

The second technique was false eyelashes. Jira attached them with minimal irritation to my eyes, and when I looked in the mirror, what a difference – they do help to achieve a much “lusher” look, especially in photos. Again, highly recommended.

I felt Jira was very down-to-earth and not pushy at all in trying to “up-sell” her skills and talent. She is decisive and efficient, but was constantly seeking my feedback. She also liked to keep a friendly banter going, although English is not her first language. I booked her within a week by sending her a check for 50% deposit.

In May, I emailed Jira a photo of an up-do that I liked, and she thought it would work very nicely. She did recommend, though, that I get my hair trimmed appropriately before our second trial, so I had her do it at a salon space that she rents in San Mateo for $50. I was quite happy with the result – long layers on both sides, with side bangs.

After reviewing the first trial photos, Jira thought that the first color scheme – lilac/purple– might be a bit too pale. So at my second trial, two weeks before the wedding (another $125), we chose a deeper palette of brown and rose tones for a warmer and richer effect, with touches of lilac to match my sisters/bridesmaids’ gowns and make-up. Jira was also able to replicate the up-do that I requested. After my sisters saw the photos, we knew that we got it.

Wedding Day:
We were running late while Jira had arrived a bit earlier than our 10:30 start. But she just patiently waited outside the suite with all her gear while my sisters made a mad dash over to the hotel. Once everyone was on site, Jira got down to business. My sisters had only arrived from Canada a couple days ago, so never had a trial with Jira, but boy were they astounded! Jira gave them both air-brush foundation and false lashes, and they looked ravishing. My older sister, who had gone through the bridesmaid experience once before in Toronto and came out of that H&M experience feeling everything was too heavy-handed, could not stop telling me how much MORE she liked Jira’s work.

I arrived shortly before 1pm, and Jira did her magic once more. Within an hour, she had recreated the flawless look that lasted me until midnight that day. She also dusted some shimmer powder over my shoulders and collarbone, for the “Hollywood” factor, as she liked to put it!

My fiancé isn’t one to rave about make-up (he usually barely notices its effects, and only points it out on other women / celebrities when it’s obviously badly/too heavily done). That day, though, when he saw me in the hotel room, he could not stop smiling and telling me how pretty I looked. So that’s saying a lot 

I heart Jira! She did my makeup/hair, bridesmaids hair and my mother's makeup/hair for my June 2008 wedding. Jira was friendly, on-time, calm, professional and she made me look amazing and natural at the same time. Sigh, it's all downhill from here...

A couple highlights come to mind; at the trial, Jira really, really LISTENED to what I wanted. I said "I want braids in the updo" and she gave me braids. She also gave me recommendations to what she thought would look better or wouldn't look so good when I asked because I was at a loss.

At one point during the wedding, we were starting to run behind schedule and I was getting a nervous about time, but Jira was calm and organized, even if I wasn't. The room we were getting ready in was also incredibly hot and I felt bad because we didn't have any bottled water available right away, but Jira and Regina sweated it out and never complained, not once.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jira for her incredibly professional work ethic and talent. Her speciality I believe is especially in Asian makeup, but I honestly think she's capable of anything (think Kevin Aucoin). She's definitely worth every penny, I'm so glad I hired her. You're the best Jira!

I want to recommend Jira and the Wowpretty team for any brides who need makeup and hair for their wedding day. She did amazing job for my family and I and I couldn't be more delighted by the results. Jira is not only a true professional, but she also so friendly and fun and made my wedding day more relaxed and run smoother.

I had gotten so many compliments from friends and family and after looking through my photos (again), I had to let everyone know what a fantastic job she did. After reading many great reviews about Jira, I decided to do a trial for my engagement pictures. I was very pleased with the result and decided to book her for my wedding. I was just about to send over my deposit when she informed me that a client she had booked on the same day needed her for the whole day, so she wouldn't be able to do my hair and makeup after all. I was very disappointed but she was very apologetic and offered to give me a free trial with another artist on her team. I had nothing to lose so I accepted the offer and Jira introduced me to Rachanee at her studio. Rachanee was very sweet and talented. She has a similiar style as Jira and I went ahead and booked her for my wedding. I was very pleased with Rachanee and the WowPretty team. They did an amazing job on me, my bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law.

I highly recommend Wowpretty to anyone who requires hair and make-up services. Jira is a very talented hair and make-up artist. She knows what works best for you, but she is open to any suggestions you may have as to the look you desire. Not only was I very satisfied with her work, she was so easy to work with as well. Recently, I've had to go through 3 weddings. Not to 3 different men, same guy, but our friends, his parents' friends, my parents' friends... 3 different cities. Let's just say that's a lot of hair and makeup in the last few months.. probably and hopefully more than ever again in my lifetime.
The side benefit is that I actually feel like I can make some true comparisons. Jira has a skill in being able to imitate a picture, which definitely is not universal. I brought her hollywood glamour meets Old Shanghai, and she really helped me rock those fingerwaves. In fact, I think the day of turned out better than the trial. She has an artistic eye and gives her opinion to find what compliments you, but she also listens to your opinions. Plus, she has patience and professionalism to deal with picky mothers, not to necessarily send more her way, but she did a great job.

Jira is amazing! She is very good at what she does, and her team is fabulous as well. Everyone looked great at the wedding, and we were all so happy with the end result. I think what really sets Jira apart is that she listens to what you want and helps you achieve the look that you want without losing her expert opinion along the way. On top of that, Jira has a wonderful personality--fun to talk to, friendly and easy-going--she just makes you feel comfortable, which is important especially on wedding day. I also got a great hair-cut from her before the wedding, and I will be sure to go back to her for hair-cuts in the future! I highly recommend Jira to anyone looking for hair and make-up services.

Jira did an amazing job. She was able to capture the exact look I wanted. The great part is that it lasted all day. She and her assistant were great with my mom and my mother-in-law. Jira and her assistant came with a great attitude and a fun loving personality. We all enjoyed the experience.

I have a story!

I had already booked with Vivian for makeup in San Jose back in 2007 but she cancelled on me at the last minute. It was 2 days before my wedding day on April 3. She is totally unprofessional. I was so mad at her and want to warn people to please watch out for that girl. Until I got Jira's number from one of my co-workers who did makeup and hair by Jira in 2001. Jira also did makeup for my sister in law in San Diego and one of my friends as well. . Can you believe that It is small word? But unfortunately, she could not do the makeup for my wedding since she had already booked. Anyways, I ended up booking someone on her team. Her name is Sylvie. I love her and would like to speak highly of her. She gave me a wonderful airbrush makeup and hair for my wedding plus my 3 bridesmaids. I would like to share with future brides to watch out and be careful with some makeup some artists like Vivian and to please make sure to take time and pay a little more money and pick one really professional and 100% responsible. Jira is very good with hair, but she is amazing with make-up. I used her for both. I opted for airbrush foundation, and it didn't budge all day or night. Day of, I did a little periodic blotting/powder and lip gloss touch ups, and that was it. She's very talented.

I allocated an hour buffer time for hair/make-up. Jira and her two assistants used it up, but forunately, we were still on time. Unfortunately, the photographer didn't take as many groomsmen pics as planned because he had to wait for me to take the bridal portraits while my make-up was fresh.

I had a morning wedding which meant getting ready really early. Jira charged extra for the early morning hours which I ended up having to take back out of gratuity. Jira and one of her assistants were ~20 minutes late, and the other assistant was almost an hour late. The one who was an hour late was, frankly, incompetent, and the moms did not like their make-up. Jira was also visibly annoyed with her for her tardiness. The other assistant did the bridesmaids' hair and did a nice job.

Well! My wedding was in Nove 2007. I came across and met Jira at Najwa‘s salon in Burlingame. She was cut & color my hair and sisters. I came out so nice and hip NY style. Until we had a long conversation about my wedding in L.A. In that time I was looking for some one who could do Asian makeup & hair and go travel as well. Jira and her assistant were awesome! They did hair and makeup for myself, my mother, bridal party, and one guest who asked if she could have her hair done at the last minute. They were wonderful and professional and did a beautiful natural looking job for a price that was very reasonable compared to many other vendors I inquired with. Absolute no drama either. They were on time, cheerful, and a pleasure to work with. Definitely recommended!

After several make-up trials with other artists for my wedding, I finally found Jira. Let me just say, I had no idea that finding a make-up artist was going to be this hard. I left other trials feeling beautiful, but thinking why do I want to pay this person $200+ to do my make-up when I can do it myself? Well Jira was the first person that I found that did such a great job that I felt that I needed to book her. Here's the low down:

1. Beautiful Make-Up - Very detailed oriented and knows how to handle asian faces.
2. Airbrush foundation - this stuff is nice, goes on smoother and thinner.
3. Reasonable prices - most make-up artists want at least $200 just to do make up. Jira is charging me 300 for both hair and make-up (trust me, this is a good deal!).
4. Touch Up - all the other make-up artists want to charge me at lest $100/hr to wait around until I need a touch up. I am getting ready at 1pm for photos but the wedding doesn't start until 6pm, so that means at least 4hrs of wait time for the make-up artist.. do the math, its a LOT! Jira will come back later in the day for a additional fee of $150 which will include a hair style change also. Thank you for having reasonable prices!!!
5. Friendly and listens to what you want.

All my bridesmaids loved Jira's make-up as well. She really does a great job making you look beautiful and natural. I felt at ease knowing that Jira was doing my make-up, especially when there were a million things going on my wedding day.

My hair looked great too. I got so many compliments on it. It didn't really look like my trial run, but it looked great anyways, so I didn't care.

Jira was also very on time and made sure everyone was ready as per my stringent schedule. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for special occasion make-up and hair.

I found Jira after I did a failed makeup and hair trial in a fancy place on Union Square in San Francisco. They are quite expensive. They asked me to take photos that I like to them. And they basically just copied it onto my face. I looked like a Japanese geisha. I think they knew it, but they said,"you look good!let's do it for your wedding day!"

I was quite angry. Then I did a trial with Jira. First thing, she has a big scrapbook of hair and makeup photos and you can look at these and discuss with her. I was more than happy with my trial. So I also did my engagement photo makeup and hair with her before my wedding. She chose a hair color for me, which I usually don't pay a look. I was a bit hesitated but it turned out to be a very elegant color for my hair. On my wedding day, she made things even better. My heavy updo stayed up a whole day and my makeup didn't fall off a bit. I did look the best ever in my life. All the wedding photos turned out to be wonderful and all my bridesmaids also look the prettiest ever since I knew them. And Jira only met them on the morning of the wedding day.

I highly recommend Jira to everyone, but particularly Asian face brides. I think she has a very good sense of beauty and fashion on Asian looks, which is the No.1 important thing. Her English, honestly, is not very good. But let's say she has no problem understanding me; and when it's in person, it's not too hard to communicate with her. I suggest just making everything clear when you see her. Her price is very reasonable. She is very professional and efficient when she is working. And she is very cheery, easygoing. So the problem of her English is really minor.

Jira is a true professional, a calm cheery personality, listens to what you want and punctual!
On the day of my wedding she showed up 10 minutes early and cheerfully began setting up all her equipment. When my mom decided that she wanted her hair and makeup done as well, Jira was able to accomodate my mom within the give time frame (30 minutes) and have my mom look and feel gorgeous.
During the trial, I expressed reservations about using shimmer, false eyelashes, a foundation color that doesn't match my neck, etc. Jira was able to asess my features and my needs to tell me what would work best for me. She had me try the fake eyelashes and she was right. They looked great in the photos without being over the top.
I was so impressed with her hair and makeup skills that I got her to teach me her makeup application tips using my own stash of makeup and brushes. I also set up an appointment for a haircut.

A friend of mine getting married three months after me loved my light and natural makeup so much that she's booking Jira too.

Finding a good makeup artist was one of the most difficult parts of the whole vendor search. I paid $50 for a makeup trial I hated. I went through 4 makeup trials through department store makeup artists- shishedo, benefit, etc. Out of everyone I tried Jira was by far the best!

Jira is extremely talented. She was very professional through out the entire process and great at responding to all my emails right away. Most importantly you can be confident that she will do an amazing job with you for your hair and makeup on the big day. My makeup lasted the entire day without any problems whatsoever. My girls looked beautful too (My mom and mother in law were not completely satisfied with their hair but it was Jira's assistant who did it. I told them to bring a picture of the hair they wanted but they didn't and so it was difficult to communicate in words. I thought they looked fine.) She was one of my favorite vendors for the wedding. The only negative thing I heard about her from other reviews was problems with her english as she's not a native speaker. I had no problems though communicating to her in English. She also likes to use pictures so it's important that you bring a photos of what you like. She replicated the hair I wanted exactly. She also arrived a little late (i think a half an hour, but also my wedding was in san francisco)but it all was totally fine and we had just the right amount of time to do all 4 people and my hair and makeup (she brought an assistant). Most importantly I looked better than I ever looked and my husband loved it.

Jira is the best! I recently had a hair and makeup trial with her, and she did an amazing job. I showed her one photo of makeup that I liked and several photos of hairstyles, and everything turned out better than I expected. She even took some time to recommend which products are best for everyday use.

Jira arrived promptly at my parents' house at the time we agreed upon and immediately set up shop. She had reference photos from our trial and asked me if there was anything I wanted to change, which was thoughtful. She was extremely friendly to me, my bridesmaids and my mother. My makeup seriously lasted all night even as I teared it up on the dance floor, save for my lip gloss (all that kissing!), but I carried my own personal stash to do touch-ups throughout the evening. Do note that Jira requires ample workspace and lots of light, and that she only accepts cash on the day of; however, the trial and the day-of advance deposit can be paid via personal check.

Tip: Always bring photographs to show the stylist and don't be afraid to tell him or her if you want to change something.

After a failed makeup trial session with another vendor who was recommended by one of my bridesmaids, I checked out a variety of websites in search of a makeup and hairstylist for my wedding. I came upon Jira's website http://www.wowpretty.com.

I e-mailed Jira in regards to finding some information and she was always easy to reach and responded in a timely manner.

I met Jira at her studio and we sat down and talked about my wedding and my dress and different outfit changes. We talked about what I liked and what I didn't like in makeup. We also talked about a variety of hairstyles.

When I first went in, I was sure I wanted to wear my hair half up, which I'm used to doing most of the time. Jira suggested that I at least try an updo style and let me look through a book with some pictures.

I'm glad that she convinced me to try my hair up. After looking at my photographs, I am as well as all of my friends are in agreement that Jira made my hair looked so awesome up.

Jira also tried two different makeup styles as well. I was so excited the whole time she was doing my makeup. She was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. She was also always asking for my input as what I liked and didn't like.

The results were amazing. I haven't even had my wedding yet, but I can't wait until that day. After my makeup trial, I completely trust Jira and her work.

Keep in mind that I had my makeup done after being up for almost 24 hours (I worked the night before) and I had tried this new moisturizer that was a bit too oily so I think it made the makeup just a little oily.
