Cheryl was the DJ for our wedding reception and I seriously cannot say enough amazing things. She was so phenomenal and really rolled with the flow and helped maintain a great atmosphere for our reception. She kept me, the bride, informed as to what was going on the whole night and everyone commented at how awesome our music was and what a great DJ she was. Our cake never showed up and she didnt let it ruin the night at all. Our MOH and BM forgot to do toasts, they just did speeches....so she coordinated for my brother to do a toast a bit later (I think around when the cake was supposed to be happening...haha). She was just wonderful. I can't say enough good things. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Will only use them for any DJ needs moving forward in my life.

Seriously, this will be the best decision you make for your reception.

After contacting a couple of other DJs prominently featured on this website, and being disappointed for a number of reasons, I decided to look for a slightly lower-key, smaller DJ company, and I am so glad I did! Most of my contact was with Jeff via email and phone calls, although Cheryl was the DJ at our wedding. I was a bit nervous about how that would work, but I had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Jeff was very responsive via both email and phone, no matter the day of week or time of day. He is very detail-oriented and understands how important the role of the DJ is to the flow of the entire evening. Jeff communicated everything to Cheryl perfectly, who did an amazing job. I really cannot say enough great things about her and we have gotten numerous compliments from our guests and even the wedding coordinator at our venue about what a great job she did. Not only was the music absolutely perfect, but Cheryl did more than just DJ our wedding. She was there to make sure every detail went smoothly, down to making sure I had water when needed. She checked in with me periodically throughout the evening and was very in tune with the direction we wanted our wedding to go. She was so flexible throughout the night and seamlessly transitioned from one "activity" to the next. I also give Cheryl special kudos because our wedding was multi-cultural with lots of non-native English speakers, and she was able to find perfect music and work the crowd despite the language barrier.

On top of the great service, Elan DJ is very reasonably-priced, especially when one considers that they provide so much more than just music. They truly run the evening, and we owe a huge part of how fun and amazing our wedding was to Cheryl!

Jeff and Cheryl were by far the best vendors we hired for our wedding. I would highly recommend them above any other DJ.

David and I came across Jeff's website and set up an initial meeting with him on skype. He was super friendly and accommodating and helped us figure out what would work best for our wedding.

As we got closer to the wedding, Jeff and I worked on a one-page event schedule, and he was very helpful in assisting me to figure out the best order of events at our potluck reception following our church ceremony.

On our wedding day, we ran a little late after the ceremony, and Jeff was able to accommodate that 30 minute lag without any problem. The music choice was great. He got everybody dancing after all the ceremonial events. Also, he was a great help in moving people to our potluck buffet. We had our tables named after deceased relatives, and some of their names were very difficult to pronounce since they are from Eastern Europe. However, Jeff did a great job with pronouncing them and getting everybody to eat as swiftly as possible.

I didn't understand until the day of the wedding how important it is to have a DJ with a lot of wedding experience. Jeff was fantastic and made our day go smooth so that David and I good truly enjoy our special day. If you are looking for quality and professionalism, Jeff and his crew are your top choice!

My husband and I were so pleased with our experience with Jeff and Elan DJ at our wedding reception! We had a potential scheduling snaffoo a couple of weeks out from the wedding, and Jeff called with an immediate solution and was very responsive and helpful. He was very patient with some last minute changes that we had, and helped keep the reception flowing despite a couple of setbacks. I've gotten so many compliments from guests about how great the music was and how much fun they had dancing. Thank you so much Jeff for making our reception an event to remember! Jeff was a great DJ. Everyone loved the music, and he was very easy to work with. Even when we had to change the date of our wedding because of Hurricane Irene, Jeff made sure that things still ran smoothly, even though he had less than 24 hours notice! Jeff got all the vendors working on the same schedule and we couldn't have asked for things to go any better. We would definitely recommend Elan-DJ to anyone having a wedding or any other event. We had Paris DJ our holiday party and he was great! He played just the right mix of music for our crowd. He surprisingly even had the older crowd up and dancing to some of the "newer" songs around! That was fun for everyone to watch! He really contributed to our good time. We will definitely be using Paris again!

My husband and I have been married just over a month ago, and throughout all the newlywed bliss we love to reminisce about how absolutely perfect, our wedding day was! We always come down to the same conclusion… We wouldn’t ever change a thing; especially not when it comes to the DJ! Elan-DJ, provided us with so many great memories to treasure forever! They made our wedding day so special and stress-free! The whole planning process was extremely overwhelming for me since I was planning my wedding a couple hundred miles away while I was in school, but they were so flexible, between being so on top of communicating through e-mails, and meetings on Skype, and it made a world of a difference to always be able to access them when a decision needed to be made! Cheryl was the one who actually did our wedding and she was amazing, looked so professional and helped everything go so smoothly without us having to worry about a thing! She never came up to us and said that we had to do something right then! She always gave us a polite heads up with options, while she kept the mood in the room!  We would recommend Elan-DJ for anyone their prices are so reasonable especially for the quality of their services!! Jeff of Elan0-DJ is a true professional and he also know how to crank up a great party! From the initial planning phase - we knew we were in good hands. Jeff was extremely professional and organized. He also, when required, knew how to properly apply pressure on us to meet milestones to keep us on track. Best of all, on the big day Jeff came through in a huge way! Despite our meager song list, Jeff somehow figured out what to play at our reception - and it was right on the mark! We LOVED Elan DJs because they were on top of everything, and they played exactly what we wanted. We gave them a comprehensive list of songs and they played only from that list. They were also very pleasant to work with. We were very happy with their services!

Jeff and Cheryl at Elan-DJ were absolutely wonderful! I received so many compliments on the music choices and everyone was on their feet and dancing the entire night. I felt that they helped me have a perfect balance of my style music and music that would keep my guests happy and moving all night long.

Choosing Elan-DJ for our wedding reception was probably the best decision we made for our wedding. They sent out a script to be filled out well in advance of the wedding, and although we had some odd requests, they had no problem picking out exactly what we were looking for. We got Jeff as our DJ and he got everyone out on the dance floor and got them to stay there the entire time, no easy task for a 180 person wedding. Everyone has commented on how great the music selection was. Jeff was extremely professional throughout the entire process and you can tell how experienced he is in the entertainment world. He also has a fantastic DJ voice. Elan-DJ made our wedding a great success. Thanks again!

Cheryl did such an amazing job! Not only was she 100% professional, but she had our dance floor packed the whole night! We ony had a few songs on our "please play" list so we really put a lot of trust in Cheryl to use her judgement as to what would get our crowd going and she did not disappoint. Elan DJ services were great. Jeff the owner was the actual DJ for our wedding and he was professional throughout the entire process. Music is one of the biggest parts of a wedding reception in my opinion and with Elan DJ we had complete control of what was played and not played. The company is very organized and accomadating to wants and requests. I was very slow to pick a DJ while planning only because I was afraid to pick the wrong DJ, however thanks to all of the truthful reviews of Jeff and Elan DJ everyone at the reception was dancing all night. He was very low key which it is what we requested we barely knew he was there other than when we had a dance to do or to cut the cake. Jeff at Elan-DJ was fantastic! We had a NYE wedding & reception all at the same location. Jeff provided DJ services for everything...guest arrival, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. All my questions were answered upfront either by their informative website or Jeff's immediate responses. Jeff was an amazing DJ!! He took care of all the music for our wedding, including the ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as the entire reception. He was very professional, didn't try to steal the spotlight, and played exactly what we wanted. He stuck to the playlist we gave him but also knew when to throw in some song ideas of his own. On top of everything else, he acted as event coordinator for the evening - if the schedule needed to be altered a little bit, he went right with the flow and made sure the other vendors knew about it too. The evening flowed smoothly and we have gotten SO many compliments on the music and Jeff himself! I HIGHLY recommend him!

Jeff did a great job at our wedding -- he understood the tone we wanted to set (no chicken dance and garter games!!) and he adhered to our no play lists and the order of events. He played our requests and added his own suggestions, kept the talk at a minimum and the dance floor was full for the entire wedding. The script he creates and the questions he asks make for a great night. He is quick to respond to email when I had a question or had to make a change at the last minute. Also, when I reversed the order of entry and exit bridal songs in the script, he caught my mistake and made sure the right music was played. We had a great wedding in part due to Elan and Jeff.

Jeff was awesome! He was always quick to respond to any concerns or questions I had throughout the planning process. On the day of our wedding, he was completely professional, played everything we wanted to hear and made the whole night run smoothly. I couldn't be happier with Elan. I knew I wanted a sophisticated DJ experience for my wedding, one that didn't include a lot of the traditional "banter". Elan DJs really delivered. My initial contact was with Jeff - he was able to answer all my questions via email and assured me that Elan was different from the other DJ services. I had very specific music selections I wanted played for the ceremony music and I was able to email him the exact recordings so that everything would be just as I wanted it. Cheryl was our DJ on the day of the wedding and she was just wonderful to work with. She made sure everything ran smoothly. She knew my fiancee and I were particular about the type of music we wanted played at the reception, so when a guest requested a song she thought we might be unhappy with, she unobtrusively pulled me aside to ask before playing it. The song selection was fine, but the fact that she took the time to check with me said a lot to me about her sense of professionalism and her commitment to making our wedding celebration exactly what we wanted. We were looking for a classy and elegant alternative to the traditional flashy DJ experience and we really found it with Elan!

You were amazing! I have recieved so many compliments on how wonderful the music was, how professional you were, and how the flow was seamless. Brent and I loved it. Initially I wanted to give you list of our favorite songs and exactly when to the play them, from beginning to end. I am so extremely glad I didn't. By giving you just a few songs for those key moments and letting you show your craft a tone was set for a well orchestrated and completely memorable day for Brent and I. We had a very pleasant experience working with Elan-DJ. They were very professional and very thorough so our reception went very smoothly.

Cheryl is a friend of mine I used to work with her years ago. Her and Jeff are fabulous, very easy to work with and can make special cut songs personally for you. They run the show for you, so you can enjoy your wedding and have no worries thank you both very much for all your hard work to make our day special.

I can't say anything bad about this company. I contacted Jeff 3 weeks before my wedding due to my other dj backing out, and he was happy to accomodate! Thank goodness. I contacted him on Monday and by Friday I had my schedule of events and we were ready to go. Cheryl came out to my wedding to dj and she was wonderful! She kept everything moving and was flexible with the music choices. We weren't very picky with our music selection but Cheryl was quick to realize what the crowd wanted to hear. I think that it was a blessing that I found Jeff and Cheryl. They really made my day!

Being a music teacher i felt it was my duty to have a live band at our wedding. At the end of the day we decided to use a DJ instead. It ended up being one of the best, worry-free decisions we made. Not only was it cost effective, but we could have ANY music that we wanted. There was no worrying what a song would sound like because we got to hear the original artist. Guests of all ages were on the dance floor the whole night and Jeff was especially flexible in throwing in additional guest requests toward the end of the night to keep everyone happy and dancing. Elan-DJ's services were highly professional and organized to make our wedding elegant and memorable.

Cheryl was our DJ and she was wonderful. We had an Armenian/Irish wedding- and they were terrific at helping us incorporate Armenian music in a way that was fun for our guests. I also thought that Cheryl and Jeff particularly listened to what we asked for in terms of music and that the music was at all times in line with the parameters we had set for them (and for ourselves). Jeff was great to work with during the planning stages, he made sure we clearly understood all the contract points, and made sure all of our needs were covered. He was very detail oriented with the DJ script and made sure he clearly understood all of our requests and instructions. She really got the dance party going, many of our guests are still telling us how much fun they had dancing the night away!

Jeff was a wonderful DJ. He was able to function as our MC and did a wonderful job doing so. He did a perfect job of not taking the spot light and doing what needed to be done. He was just perfect and made our day so much better. All the guests had a wonderful time dancing as well. Many of our guests loved him as well and asked us where we had found him. He had a great sense of what music to play and when to play it. I am so thankful for all that he did and would eagerly recommend to anyone who is interested!!

Jeff was our DJ from Elan DJs, and he was great to work with. He provided us with a very high quality professional Dj experience, as well as playing a very good mix of music. The evening flowed very nicely, and the dance floor was full for the whole reception. The work that he put in with us ahead of time was also extremely helpful. He worked hard to put together a well thought out plan for our reception, and he was in touch with us often. I would recommend him to anyone for any event, he is a very experienced and flexible DJ.

I did most of my planning by email. But it was easy and just what I wanted. Jeff did an excellent job selecting music. He was able to read the crowd, stuck to our no-play list and he played some great requests. He did an excellent job running the show in a very low key manner. We did not want a DJ who spent a lot of time on the mic, and Jeff was perfect and professional. Our favorite part was that he gave us a copy of all the music he played at the end of the night. It was wonderful to take it with us on the honeymoon and listen as we drove around Hawaii. If you hire Jeff, you will not need to worry about the music.

Jeff is highly professional and very easy to work with. Our wedding music was wonderful and Jeff saved the day helping us out with the wedding party enterance, cake cutting, first dance etc...

Jeff was great from the outset. He was very responsive and professional, before the wedding and during. My wife loved the fact that he was very detailed and organized, as it calmed her that everything would go as planned. One of the great things was that we did not notice him very much throughout the actual day as everything went smoothly. I plan on recommending when a friend or family member gets married. We were very satisfied.

The bride wasn't so much worried about music; to her it was the dress and the flowers and the pictures and the decor, etc. But for the groom here, it was all about seeing elderly relatives hitting the dance floor.
The decor was great, and the bride was beautiful, and in some of the pictures I sort of don't look completely ridiculous, so all that stuff was great and all, but what matters is that my aunt who just had hip replacement surgery was shaking her butt on the dancefloor!
Cheryl was great. I think we were a little under-prepared as far as knowing what we wanted, but Cheryl was there with suggestions, and definitely hooked us up with great music for our outdoor ceremony. The rest of the night she was always a few steps ahead: prodding us to do this or that, dialing things back for the ritual "giving of the enormous quilt", knowing what the crowd wanted to hear next, and even taking the time to find me or the bride to make sure a guest's request was cool (and I'm pretty sure she got a lot of requests, but she only elevated the key ones for the green light, which was keeping with our wishes).
I could go into a lot of detail, but in short, working with Cheryl was like hiring a really well-spoken friend to MC, except your friend is also an awesome DJ. Everyone had a lot of fun, and I know things wouldn't have been the same without Cheryl. Cheers!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Elan-DJ. Throughout the time period of when I first inquired about their service for my wedding - till the very end when their DJ John Lamirande was packing up at the end of my reception - the level of service was amazing and exceeded all my expectations. The entertainment that Cheryl provided at our wedding reception was outstanding! She and Jeff were a pleasure to work with and helped a lot with reception planning and schedules! We were very very happy that we chose Elan!

Very professional. Jeff's communication was amazing. He sent a very detailed form to fill out to get a sense of the music feel that I wanted. I never actually met him until the day of, but that never worried me once. I loved that he is a musician and so he has a real sense of music. Our wedding was in the afternoon, so there wasn't a whole lot of dancing from my relatives, but the music he chose was lovely to keep everyone in good spirits. He played everything from my request list and really nicely balanced what I requested with what I hadn't requested. As far as I know, he arrived on time and set up was seamless. I had him on the upper level so I think that some of his announcements were a little under received, but that was my own doing because I had him upstairs, just because of the way my venue was set up. I only did 4/5 stars for flexibility because he was quite set in many things about the day, but with good reason. It kept everything from getting loosey goosey and he had great ideas for the order of the reception to keep everything flowing nicely.
All in all, excellent. I would recommend him to anyone.

Jeff was the DJ on our wedding. He did a great job with the music combination. The one thing we were concern about was how to make the guests feel comfortable on the dance floor since we have an eclectic group. We asked for a variation of latin music and top 40. The guests had a great time and packed the dance floor. Our first dance music that we got from our dance instructor was horrible after the cut. Jeff fixed it with the exact speed of our choreography. Thank you Jeff. We absolutely had a great time that night.

Jeff really helped us during the process of picking our music. We were concerned about a DJ being too involved during the reception, and he put our worries at ease. He provided excellent professional guidance, and everyone raved about the music. He provides a script as a guideline, making sure that everything is scheduled down to the minute. He even gave us a copy of our playlist at the end! This was the only vendor that I didn't have to contact because he was always in contact with me first. He may be a bit pricier than other DJ's, but if you're picky about services, I would highly recommend him.

We had Jeff at our wedding and he did a fantastic job. He constantly keep us apprised of what was going on, where we needed to be and what needed to happen next. We didn't have a great idea of the music we wanted to use for the ceremony and he made some great suggestions and we ended up trusting him and used his suggestions. I highly recommend Elan DJ.

I don't really have anything bad to say about Elan DJ - Jeff was professional at our reception and unobtrusive as promised. (We didn't want a cheesy DJ who would make us/guests do stupid cheesy stuff or play cheesy music.) In the weeks before the wedding, he worked with us and our planner on the timeline and made some suggestions for changes which ended up working well. He also suggested the song for our father/daughter and mother/son dance (at the same time).

We had a huge do not play list, which Jeff stuck to (and the kids wanted the chicken dance so I said I would make an exception for that). I also sent a huge (really huge) suggested songs playlist that Jeff picked songs from..one for the cocktail hour and dinner, and one for the rest of the reception. He did start out the reception (after dinner) with (I think) 80s and older songs, which I had said was fine, but no one really danced..could have been because it was 2pm and no one had had enough to drink yet and people were still finishing eating.

People started clinking their glasses for us to kiss, so we asked Jeff to make an announcement that that would actually not be happening, which he did (our guests laughed..and continued to clink the glasses). And per our request, no requests were accepted except from the bridal party.

Jeff did a good job, and I would recommend him if you're looking for an unobtrusive non-cheesy DJ. I think we really just wanted a band (we just ran out of time and money to find one).

Cheryl is a delightful person and a pleasure to work with, but unfortunately the services provided were sub-par. Here are the reasons why:
- There was a constant crackling noise throughout most of the speeches.
- Apparently there was some sort of audio problem for our entrance during the cocktail hour and there was no announcement at all
- Cheryl did not take control of the event as I had envisioned and hoped and most people did not hear any of her announcements (who was next speaking, father-daughter dance, etc.)

Although as I mentioned Cheryl is very nice and all pre-event communication with Jeff was professional, I do not feel as though we received adequate services for what we paid. It should be noted that I work in the meeting planning industry so I'm probably a tougher critic than most, but I'd hoped that for the price we were paying that even my high standards would have been met.

I'd be more than happy to discuss this in more detail.

I was very unhappy with this dj. I felt that they were very pushy and would email me and call me constantly asking for me to provide information for their timeline. I held my tongue and went with it because I figured at least everything would be very detailed. Then, at the actual wedding, they brought the wrong timeline and interrupted the first dance too quickly and then went straight into the father-daughter dance next, which I had specifically asked not to do. They also played songs that we had specifically asked them not to play. When I confronted them, I was told that the guests started having more fun after they stopped listening to my recommendations for music and that just because I had been kind enough to give them a tip, that was an indication that I had enjoyed the service. I felt they were rude and insulting to me and am glad I had been able to negotiate them to 50% of their original asking price, because I felt like they wasted my time and were the one thing that went wrong at the wedding.

We recently had a wedding at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington DE. I will stipulate that the DJ arrived on time as obligated.

However, and most importantly, we gave the DJ a list of songs that were to be played. The list was largely 80s based and contained "must plays". Not only was the 80s centered list largely ignored, but our must played music was not followed.

For anyone who has a wedding coming up, the day, including the reception goes by extremely fast, between trying to get a bite of your food in, and meeting and greeting all of your guests. I just didn't have the time to get to the DJ, but I really shouldn't have to, given the amount of money we paid.

When I confronted the DJ after the wedding via email, he at first blamed the wedding planner, then he went on to blame me! He said that "what does it matter, you don't even dance" and "you wedding planner was unprofessional". He questioned my whole complaint.

He went on to say that no refund is warranted, when that was not what we were asking. We were asking for some of the money to be refunded because we were not happy AND HIS COMPANY HAS A STATED GUARANTEE OF SATISFACTION. Other guests had told us "we thought more 80s music was going to be played" etc, because that IS what we we planned on. We were even nagged by this DJ to have all of these songs listed prior to the wedding and he didn't play most of them! He went on to call my new bride 5 times, leaving phone messages, and to refute in about 12 emails a blow by blow retort against anything I had to say. Never saying, "hey, I'm sorry you feel that way, lets make it better."

I would NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES recommend this DJ. We were charged $1800 for what amounted to a monkey playing an itunes song list that he, not we, wanted played. His reaction to situation made things worse, and when you can't accept the fact that people are not satisfied, then don't post a guarantee, but most importantly, don't go into business.

This DJ acts like that US Post Office employee who knows you have nowhere to go and doesn't care about anything than collecting your money and sending you out the door.

This DJ writes in his reply that I'm trying to get refunds from vendors? Our wedding cost over $65,000. I don't think so.

The bottom line is that the DJ DID NOT DO WHAT WE ASKED TO BE DONE. WHEN WE QUESTIONED HIS SERVICES, HE BLAMED EVERYONE, EVEN MYSELF, FOR NOT BEING A DANCER? THIS DJ HAS A HOT TEMPER AND WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GO OFF ON YOU, YOUR GUESTS, OR YOUR WEDDING PLANNER AND I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVE IT.
