A Garden-Inspired Table

A trip to your local garden center can yield the easiest centerpiece ever!  Potted containers full of annuals are colorful and long-lasting, and they're budget-friendly to boot.  This potted petunia was purchased for under $20, and absolutely pops on our table. 

We wrapped its plastic pot with nubby burlap and tied a piece of white cheesecloth around it as an accent.  The table number was taped to a wooden skewer and stuck in the center of the plant.  Voila!  A completely no-fuss, yet stunning alternative to a traditional flower arrangement, and a great take-away for your guests.

To finish off the look for our table, we used the same burlap fabric as wraps for simple glass votives.  We made napkins out of complimentary fabric, wrapped our silverware inside, and tied cheesecloth around each one. 

In keeping with our garden-inspired theme, we filled tiny paper bags with seeds as favors for guests.  (Make sure to include information on the seed type and planting instructions with each one.)  We labeled each bag with guest names and used miniature clothespins to attach them to a string.
