Andy Roddick's Wedding Weekend
New details as the tennis star married model Brooklyn Decker Friday evening! (expert advice)
Tennis star Andy Roddick and model Brooklyn Decker tied the knot at his home in Austin, Texas Friday evening.
People magazine reports that the candlelit ceremony occurred at twilight, with the couple surrounded by friends, family and an assortment of colorful tropical flowers. Decker wore a custom-made gown by Vera Wang with rhinestones up the back, while her bridesmaids were all dressed in strapless chocolate brown. The bridal party carried bouquets of white tulips and peonies.
With the exception of some high profile pals, like Elton John, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi, the wedding itself was a low-key, private event. The reception took place at a nearby country club, where guests dined on steak and fish.
People reports that Elton John performed at the reception -- he and Roddick met several years back at a charity event. The music icon reportedly performed eight songs -- even taking audience requests.
The celebration continued with a bigger bash Saturday night, where 250 guests enjoyed ribs, steak and a night with the newlyweds at Stubbs Bar-B-Que restaurant.
According to the mag, the 26-year-old Roddick met Decker after seeing her in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and proceeded to track down her phone number. The 21-year-old model joked about their meeting in an interview with the mag, "I was stalked. He'll tell you that. But it was charming. He was charming. Eventually, I fell for it, and five months later I called him back and that was that."
Decker also tells People she is really enjoying wedding planning more than she thought! "This has been the happiest time. I'm very much a tomboy and this is being a total girl, being with my friends and my mom."
The couple were engaged in March, 2008.
