The star talks with Essence about her nuptials to Jay-Z! (expert advice)
The always glamorous Beyonce Knowles graces the cover of Essence magazine’s November issue and finally spills secrets about her ultra private wedding to rapping mogul Jay-Z last April.
The undercover couple tied the knot at Jay-Z’s New York City loft, foregoing one traditional aspect of most ceremonies ... diamond engagement rings!
According to People.com, the Essence article reveals that Beyonce instead chooses to wear a simple band on her ring finger.
She and Jay-Z, however, both have matching tattoos on their left hand ring fingers of the Roman numeral IV (symbolic of their wedding date and both of their birthdays, which fall on the 4th.)
Beyonce tells Essence the reason she skipped the engagement bling was because, "People put too much emphasis on that ... It's just material and it's just silly to me."
"What Jay and I have is real," she continues. "It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real."
