Whether you will be throwing your own bridal shower or your maid of honor will be handling it, it’s important that the theme is something you will enjoy!

As your girlfriends and female family members bring gifts for you and your soon-to-be-hubby, you will have the chance to gossip, catch up and dream of your upcoming wedding. Here are a few tips that will help you determine what bridal shower theme to use!

Are You a Sweet and Sentimental Gal?

If you’re the kind of girl that enjoys sweet and sentimental parties and gifts, there are many different themes to choose from. Why not try a spa and beauty theme, where you and an intimate group of girls spend the afternoon at the spa? If you want something a bit more personal, try a best wishes theme – have guests write their best wishes down on paper and tie it to a small tree or plant. After opening gifts and enjoying fun bridal shower games, open and read your best wishes aloud!

Are You a Party Gal?

If you’re the kind of girl who would rather hear loud music and enjoy a few drinks, create a ‘cellar stocking party.’ Each guest would bring a bottle of your favorite wine, champagne or other drink to help stock your ‘wine cellar.’ Of course, they can bring an extra bottle to share and enjoy at the party. If you’d rather have an alcohol-free party, consider having a dance-off! The last girl standing wins a pre-determined gift!

Are You a Princess?

If you’ve been the princess in your circle of friends for a while, there’s nothing better than having a princess party. Have cute crowns for the girls and instruct them to bring something ‘princess’ or ‘fairytale’ inspired when it comes to gifts. For instance, a tea set for your new castle or books for your royal library! For a fun game, have the girls write down the princess gifts they bestow on you for your marriage (advice, tips or suggestions for life with the Prince!)

There are many different bridal shower themes and it typically comes down to what sort of personality you have. Will your shower be laid back, relaxing and sweet or packed full of excitement, fun and thrills? Any of the above ideas are great, but with a little creativity and imagination, you can come up with a truly unique and wonderful bridal shower theme all your own!

To Dreamer1642,

I've been to 2 co-ed showers that were really fun. One was called "Round the Clock", and everyone attending was assigned a particular time of the day. The person who was assigned 12:00 midnight brought matching  monogramed bathrobes for the bride and groom. The person who was assigned 12:00 noon brought a panini maker, etc. The other shower was just called Bar and Wine, similar to the cellar stocking on in the article. The guys attending brought different craft beers or liquors that every bar should have; some of the girls brought wine, but others brought things like a good ice bucket or every conceivable bar gadget. Everyone had a great time and loved seeing the really fun , yet often practical, gifts which will be used by both the bride and the groom.

The other one was like the

We did a Hawaiian theme for my best friend last summer. We had tropical fruits and cooked out on the grill. The fruit punch was a hit too.
