Color Palette: An Orange and Aqua Blue Table
See how a vibrant, in-season fruit inspired us to create a bright and happy table! (expert advice)
Incorporating seasonal elements into your wedding day is a great way to embrace the unique bounty that nature brings during different times of the year. And not only will your event look festive, but in most cases, anything that's in-season - whether it be flowers, plants, fruit, or even vegetables - has a much more budget-friendly price point than when they're out of season.
For our table, we were inspired by the mini-cratefulls of clementine oranges that are currently stacked high at every grocery store in town. These little beauties are a great way to add a punch of color to your wedding day, and they can be easily displayed on a cake stand, tray, or in a bowl and used as a centerpiece for your table - no flower-arranging skills necessary!
Aqua is a perfect antidote to bright orange - it not only softens it a bit, but it makes it ultra-modern and pretty - and adding white makes this combo clean and wedding-ready. Once we established our palette, a quick trip to our local fabric store yielded us 3 different (yet complimentary) fabrics in our color scheme. Since our centerpiece is an explosion of orange, we chose muted aqua and blue fabrics as our dominant fabrics and used those as the tablecloth and table runner. Our third fabric, a combination of orange, aqua, and white, was used in smaller doses as our napkins. The result is a perfect balance of color and pattern that are pleasing to the eye.
Small aqua bud vases filled with white roses give our table a formal touch and add just another layer of pretty to this happy, festive table!
