For smaller gatherings such as a bridal shower or an intimate wedding, it may be feasible to create your own chocolate boxes. The printed box shown here was created using a plain store bought truffle box as a template (available in small quantities in the cake decorating aisle of craft stores). You can also try searching online for free downloadable templates and trace them onto card stock or patterned scrapbook paper for a custom look.

For larger gatherings, a less time-intensive option is a must. You can find boxes for food packaging availible in bulk from online retailers. Dress up plainer looking selections by creating your own decorative labels to seal the boxes. You can buy simple printable labels at the office supply store, or opt for labels with a decorative border (you can design your own as we did here or purchase them from stationary stores). Most label manufacturers will offer templates and instructions to help you customize your labels with text.

Chocolate: Be sure to take into account the size of your boxes when determining how much chocolate you'll need. Remember you can incorporate an assortment of chocolate, candy and even cookies form different sources to meet your budget and needs.

If desired, you can place boxes alongside candy displays and allow guests to pick out a personalized assortment. On a final note, be cautious about using chocolate if your venue is outdoors especially during the warmer months of the year and always be sure to keep chocolate away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

We have a Stampin Up demonstrator who will let us use her die cut machine to cut out as many boxes as we want as long as we buy the paper. She has lots a great ideas for weddings and showers. You can go to the Stampin Up website to find a demonstrator. We are saving a fortune and she shows us how to do it all. So far the projects we did were very easy but look professional.
