DIY: Cardbox

Super easy DIY Cardbox Instructions!! (community article)

DIY: Cardbox article photo

I am FINALLY done with my cardbox!! :) And I love it!

Before:                                                                After:

(if you're going to use any of these pics of mine, please give me credit!!)

Ok.. here are all of the instructions if you want to make this SUUUUUUUUUUUUPER easy cardbox!!

Here is everything you need:

  • Cardbox (mine measured 12" X 9" h, and was actually a plain old gift box)
  • Adhesive spray (or glue, I prefer adhesive spray)
  • Ribbon
  • Tulle
  • Scissors
  • Something to fasten your bow (if desired)
  • (not pictured here) Monogram (if desired)

Step 1: Position your ribbon as desired on cardbox (starting at the front, where you can place your monogram over the starting point)

Step 2: Spray ribbon with adhesive and continue adhering ribbon on every side of the box, as desired. Cut off ribbon once front is reached again.

Step 3: Place tulle on underside of box and position as desired

Step 4: After tulle is positioned, tie ends of tool into knot and leave extra tulle (if desired) once knot is tied

Repeat Step 4 as many times as desired. *note* I repeated step 4 twice because the lavender tulle is so light and I wanted it to show better

Step 5: Place fastener into middle of tulle knot. I chose to do an "S" pin so I could reuse it!

It should now look something like this!!

Step 6: Place monogram on the front of the box, hiding where the ribbon meets (optional)

Step 7: Cut card slot in the top of the box

NOW YOU'RE DONE!!! :) See wasn't that just the easiest thing???

  3. Lavender tulle: $2.99
