"DIY Wedding Challenge 2010" My flowerless bouquet
My DIY no flower colorful bouquet (community article)
When we first got engaged I knew immediately that I didn't want to have any flowers at the wedding. My FI learned long ago that I don't even like getting flowers as a gift so I immediately started searching for alternatives.
I knew I wanted to incorporate vintage brooches but during my search I also found these amazing vintage beaded clip on earrings. "What the heck! I'll buy these too!"
My mom being the amazing and creative person she is quickly got started on her own project for me. Handmade beaded brooches, as well as silk flowers which she attached buttons to to give them some bling to go with my brooches!
I bought from Michaels a green round gardening ball (that you can stick stuff into) and the bottom piece of my bouquet out of the same material. You can see from picture below the pieces I was working with to put it all together.
I am still working on it as of now but I wanted to enter because most of it is done and it's all about piecing it together at this point. I do have some more pins to work with as well. I am using long wire to wrap around each piece and then stick into the green ball. That will hold nicely, I am also using a glue gun to give some added security to the base. When my wedding is over I plan to give each one of my favorite women a pin in honor of being there for me through this whole process and I thought it would be a wonderful way to give them a piece of our wedding that they can actually wear in the future.

I am absolutely in love with my bouquet! I love it so much and am so excited to show it off. It's unique, beautiful and really special to me in so many ways! Thanks for looking!
Well, I have made some changes along with some more gorgeousness from my mother!
Updated version and new beaded beauties!
** I am using my late grandfathers tie to wrap the stem of my bouquet. My father is very touched by this and I love being able to incorporate him into my special day!
