Wedding Card Box (community article)
I decided to create a wedding card box when my wedding started to get a little out of hand. After looking at the prices to purchase these , I decided to make my own and I spent $28 bucks. I wanted something to secure all of the cards that our guest wanted to give us and ensure they were in a secure place. Read below as I provide you with detailed instructions on how to create a beautiful wedding card box:
Here are the supplies you will need:
Paper mache boxes (all different sizes)
Paint
Ribbon
Box Cutter
Hot Glue Gun
Embellishment (ex. rhinestone buckles,trinkets)
Creativity
Step 1: organize all of your boxes largest to smallest
Step 2: Cut a large whole into lid of the largest box with a box cutter, this will allow all of the cards to drop to the very bottom
Step 3: Cut a slit into the second largest box in the front center. This will allow guest to insert their cards into the box, plus you can hold more cards!!
Step 4: Discard the lids of all of the other boxes, except for the largest and smallest boxes. You wont need them.
Step 5: Paint each box the color of your choice. Allow to Dry
Step 6: Start applying ribbon and embellishments to each individual box to create a design. Time to start using your hot glue gun.
Step 7: Stack each individual box largest to smallest securing with a hot glue gun. Remember, the largest box and the smallest will have a lid. Flip the other boxes upside down and glue to have a cascading look.
Step 8: Add more ribbon and embellishments for a finished look
Step 9: Enjoy your newest and best DIY project!
