DIY Wedding Challenge~boutonnieres
boutonnieres (community article)
I decided to make the boutonnieres for the guys instead of my uncle making them. I also wanted my FI's and my fathers to be different so I changed the colors a little.
I started out with:
6 Calla Lilly boutonnieres which I bought from Crafts 2000 for .99 cents each.
I then cut the stem just a little more because for my taste they were a little too long.
I took green floral tape and wrapped the stems to make them just a little darker then what they were.
After this, I took the colored ribbon that was for each boutonniere and applied a little hot glue to the back side of the flower stem and pressed the starting end down. I then began to wrap the stem around until it was completely covered. I allowed a little piece of the ribbon to extend the stem so that I could apply my peal bead without showing the glue.
Once I wrapped the stem I applyed a little bit of glue and pushed in a white pear at the end.
On the grooms men's boutonnieres I tied a bow onto the stem and inserted a boutonniere push pen so that it can be attached to the shirt or jacket for the wedding.
For my father's and my FI's boutonnieres I inserted a stran of coral colored beads and wrapped them around the finished ribbon. Also added the pearl to the end of their boutonniere.
Pictures to enjoy!!
