Supplies Needed:
- Fabric
- Round boxes (can be found at Jo Ann's sold in set of 3)
- Ribbon
- Pearls
- Glue Gun
- Box Cutter
First start by covering your boxes with the fabric:
Roll fabric along outer edge as shown
Roll fabric along and use glue gun every so often to ensure it stays tightly on the box. (be careful with the amount of glue on thin fabrics as glue may show through)
Once you reach the other end of the box fold over the outer edge and glue down so your edge is finished.
Now that your sides are covered you must glue down your top edges. Slit the edges so they will easily fold down into the box. Glue down each piece tightly.
BOX Lids:
On all box lids, except the top tier. Cut a hole 1/4" smaller than the box that will sit on top.(allows cards to drop :)
Top Tier Box Lid:
Cut a slit with box cutter the width of an average size card.
Boxes:
On all boxes except the largest box. Cut a hole 1/4" smaller than the box that will sit on top.
Once lids have holes cut out cover with fabric the same as you have done your boxes. For the top tier lid you will need to cover the top completely with fabric since it will have the slit and be shown. To finish off your card slit...iron separate fabric pieces under to have finished looking edges... glue on the inside so they flap over covering the raw edges.
To perfect the lids outer rim glue a ribbon around to cover and leave a more finished look.
Add pearl or rhinestone details & glue ribbons vertically for the traditional box hat look.
