DIY Wedding Challenge 2010 - Wedding Felt Wreath

(community article)

DIY Wedding Challenge 2010 - Wedding Felt Wreath article photo

To start, you will need:

-about 10 sheets of felt (about 25-50 cents at Hobby Lobby)

-a hot glue gun & glue

-pearls, beads, gems (from the dollar store)

-a wreath (about $5 from Hobby Lobby)

-ribbon (any kind)

STEPS:

1) Wrap the wreath with some leftover ribbon

2)Cut the felt into 1-2 inch strips. I did two layers of felt, but you can do more or less.

3)Hot glue the edge onto the wreath and begin to fold over and over to create the ruffled effect. keep the felt glued to the wreath every 2 to 3 folds. Keep going until you have gone all the way around.

4)If you decide to do a second layer (which will cover your hot glue from before), proceed as above.

5)In order to hide the hot glue and to make the wreath pretty, glue pearls, buttons, beads or vase gems onto the wreath, towards the center. You can do as many or as few as you would like. I simply used whatever I had around and filled it until I felt all the messy parts were covered.
