DIY Wedding: Mapping It Out!
For the bride and groom that are globe-trotters, consider this travel theme. Vintage globes and maps aren't difficult to come by and can easily add character and color to your event.
For this table setting, we used a collection of vintage globes as the centerpiece (saving money on flowers) and used square plates as a fun and different detail. To echo the colors of the globes, we used a yellow floor length tablecloth and accented it with blue napkins. Linens and Dishware were rented from Abbey Rental.
In addition to the globes, we used a pull-down classroom map as backdrops for guests to have "photobooth" pictures taken. Unless the globes or maps are especially rare, you can usually find them at the flea market or on ebay for $3-$15 each. Make sure you don't get ones that are too large or they will prohibit people across the table from having a conversation!
