A wedding video is something that couples will cherish for the rest of their lives.  With just the push of a button, you can relive the beautiful moments in which you became the wife of the one you love!  One of the most important things to consider when creating a wedding video is the music that plays during the video.  Whether you’re creating a wedding video of highlights or of the entire ceremony, it’s important to choose great music for your wedding video.

Using Your Song

Many couples have a song that serves as theme music for the relationship – it brings tears to your eyes and makes you think of your sweetheart whenever you hear it.  Choosing great music for your wedding video can be as simple as adding your song to it.  If you will have more than one song for your wedding video, consider playing your song during the parts of the video where the bride and groom exchange vows and kiss.  This is a romantic choice and it’s sure to take you back to your wedding day every time you watch it!

Different Sections of Your Wedding Video

You may want to add different songs to different sections of your wedding video to really set the tone for your wedding video.  For instance, for the father and daughter dance, you can add songs which are appropriate and which set the mood for that part of the video. Consider ‘My Girl’ by the Temptations or ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder.  You can pick out important sections of your video for new songs to appear. A few parts you might want to add different songs to include:

  • The processional when the wedding party walks down the aisle
  • The bride walking down the aisle
  • The first dance
  • The highlights of the entire wedding

A Few Things to Consider

Speak to your wedding videographer to determine how the songs can transition throughout the wedding video.  If you’d like a whole video where you can actually hear the words spoken, you may have to ask for another copy.  It’s also a great idea to have small highlight videos to present to the wedding party or guests.

By choosing great music for your wedding video, you can experience a beautiful, sentimental moment every single time you enjoy the video.

Once again, I'm disappointed in the "expert advice" posted on this site and would like to challenge the editor to review the work prior to posting.

This is vague and could be so much more detailed, written with the imaginative script that goes into planning and executing details for such a special day:

  • The processional when the wedding party walks down the aisle
  • The bride walking down the aisle
  • The first dance
  • The highlights of the entire wedding

It would be great to see some actual expert advice on this site once in a while, instead of a thrown together list of typical things. The name of the article makes you think that maybe some suggestions in music would be presented, as opposed to 2 of the  most typical songs you could hear at a wedding, yet at the same time, these are songs that don't even match the emotion traditional of a father-daughter dance.

Our wedding is going to have a soundtrack.  So no extra music needed!
