One thing a lot of women wish for during their wedding planning is that they were just a few pounds lighter or a few inches smaller.  If you want to shrink your wedding waistline, here is a 3-week plan that will help you become a lighter, more toned and thinner bride!

3 Weeks Away from the Big Day -

When you're three weeks away from your wedding day, you should really limit your fat and sugar intake.  Eat ‘junk' food very sparingly and when you do indulge, eat only a small amount.  For instance, if you have a craving for chocolate, eat 10 to 15 chocolate covered raisins. Also, if you want to shrink that wedding waistline - start drinking 8 glasses of water a day.  Not only does this help you lose weight and feel better, but it creates glowing and beautiful skin!  Try to walk briskly for at least 30 minutes every day.

2 Weeks Away from the Big Day -

With the tiny changes you've made in the last week, you may have noticed that you're a pound or so lighter!  This week, you will continue to drink the water and cut out saturated fats and trans fats.  Eat lots of vegetables this week, because they help you feel full - and you can eat as many vegetables as you want in a day!  2 to 4 servings of fruit each day is a good idea as well.  To continue to shrink that wedding waistline this week, start cutting out starchy foods, such as potatoes and pasta.

Keep walking briskly for 30 minutes a day and add some cardio for around 15 minutes every other day.  This will help you work up a good sweat and burn some of that pre-wedding fat!

1 Week Away from the Big Day -

Now that there is only a week away from the big day, the majority of your diet should consist of fruits and vegetables.  To get protein, which creates a lot of energy, eat beans, nuts, whole grain foods and other energy-laden foods.  Carrots are also high in protein - so don't forget your veggies.  Continue drinking your water and doing the exercises you've been doing.

Although you will not miraculously lose a lot of weight in the three weeks before your wedding, you will probably notice a difference - your wedding dress fits a little better, you've lost water weight, you look healthier and are glowing.  Don't be surprised if you lose a whole inch from your tummy!

If you want to shrink that wedding waistline, simply follow the 3-week plan above.  Of course, you should always speak to your doctor before starting any diet plan to ensure that you're healthy enough to diet.  Good luck and may you be a beautiful, healthy bride!

This is a good start to a healthy lifestyle - however I agree with Urb0002 - this isn't a healthy way to lose weight in 3 weeks unless you have extremely poor eating/exercising habits right now. Gradual weight loss and ability to maintain that weight loss is key for a healthy lifestyle. You don't want to lose weight to fit in your gown only to gain it all back while on your honeymoon (I've known several girls this has happened to recently!). Yes drink water - give up juices and pop/soda and you'll see and feel noticeably different (if that's all you drink). If you already drink tons of water and eat healthy and do cardio on a regular basis, starting strength classes/lifting weights. Over the course of ~4 years (college and post college) I lost about 50 lbs and started toning up. Though I still weighed in around 160 and was a SOLID size 8 I thought I could do more. I started do three days of light weights and worked my way up to heavier weights. In the course of ONE year, I maintained a weight of about 145 and am now a solid and healthy 0. My problem was that I fell into the same routine of cardio so my body got used to it. Switch things up - Zumba, spin, weights are all fun and different options. And if you need to switch up the eating habits - graze on small meals throughout the day. Almonds, dry HEALTHY cereal, baby carrots, yogurt (no fruit flavors with added sugar) are all great items to snack on throughout the day. If you can't drink plain water - try adding cucumbers, lemons, limes, mint OR register for a juicer and add some veggies and fruits into your diet! My fiance (a meat and potatoes man) loves V-8 Splash so we registered for a juicer  and make our own now.  Much better for you and a great way to use ripening fruits/veggies or buy then discounted at the grocery and make juice right away! Great way to cleanse! And remember, if you do something for 6-8 weeks it becomes routine, so keep it up and make it a healthy lifestyle! (and you can always change one thing at a time so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself and/or overwhelming yourself with so much change!)

While trying to lose extra water weight before the wedding is a good idea, you should try to get most of your weight loss out of the way BEFORE your final dress fitting. Losing a lot of weight too close to the wedding is going to leave you with a dress that fits poorly and is not flattering. It's better to start a serious weight loss plan at least 6 months in advance. Remember, more than two pounds a week in unhealthy weight loss, so plan accordingly, and not only will you look great, but you'll also feel great, and have an easier time keeping the weight off after the wedding has come and gone.

I liked it and thought it was helpful insight. I have already started a routine and have lost 30lbs. It's coming off slowly because I don't believe in diets; however, I have changed my eating habits. This three week plan just may be what I need to lose the last ten pounds!
