Color Inspiration Contest: Black and White Damask with Red accents

A Classic Combo with a Modern Edge! (community article)

Color Inspiration Contest: Black and White Damask with Red accents article photo

The whole thing started with a dress...

For my wedding dress, I immediately knew that I wanted black accents on it - something edgy but still elegant.  When I began dress shopping I was blown away by all the different styles that offer exactly what I was looking for!  Many wedding dresses with black accents are of course inspired by the infamous dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the classic film Sabrina.

After I found my dress, the rest just started falling into place.  The black and white combo was crisp and classic, and when I started seeing all these fabulous damask, brocade and filigree patterns, a light bulb went off in my head.  What a perfect way to incorporate these colors into my wedding!

My middle name is Rose, so I've always naturally been drawn to the drama and passion that a red rose signifies, and I love how they accentuate a classic damask pattern.  I've always had a romantic notion that I would hold  a stunning bouquet of red roses when I married the man of my dreams!

I created the inspiration board shown above with elements and different items that will be incorporated into my upcoming black and white damask wedding!

I LOVE the back of the dress with the model looking out over the ocean - please be so kind as to let me know where i can find the front pic of that dress.

Thanks SO much :-)

Nevermind. I found the designer myself. It's an alfred angelo dress. He makes really nice dresses.

hello. I am having the same colors as you are for my january wedding. I want to do all these things but the price is rediculous so I won't be able to go all out with everything I want. I lucked out though with the reception spot. It's a hidden gem here that has an old hollywood flare to it and has red interior and is just goregous. I wanted to have white and black be the biggest part of the wedding but with that place being as dark and red as it is they will be more of the accents of the reception i'm thinking. I am looking for my dress still though and saw the one on your inspiration board and was wondering who it was made by and how much it costs. I've looked at a LOT of dresses and haven't found one yet that I have to have that is within my price range. It looks stunning from the back and i'd like to see the front of it. Do you know who the designer is?? Thanks.
